Question

How can I get my icemaker to make ice?

The icemaker on my RF265abwp fridge has stopped working completely. The ice tray does not fill with water. I have repleaced the filter twice. The filter does fill with water, so the water is flowing into the fridge. When I puch the reset button the icemaker goes through the motions (the arm comes down and goes up, the ice tray rotates). What are my next steps?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If ice is forming under the Cool Select Pantry Drawer, it's possible that your refrigerator temperature is set either too high or too low. Please adjust the temperature to 38°F, if necessary. The water that is freezing may be the result of condensation or it may be an indication of a leak that may require service to repair. Try wiping up the water and waiting 24 hours. If water has accumulated there again by the next day, your refrigerator will require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

How do you fix leaking water in unit?

I hooked up the water line for the ice maker and and we have had the unit for approximately two years. It has worked just fine and lately water is getting into one of the bottom compartments in the refrigerator and then leaking onto the floor. I have shut off the line to the unit and this problem stops. Is there a line in the unit that could be the problem and if so how can it be fixed?

Thanks

There are several factors that can effect the ability of your RF265ABWP icemaker to produce ice, in particular the availability of water to fill the tray, and the temperature of the freezer once the tray is filled with water. First, make sure the Ice Off button on the control panel has not been pressed. Next, try pressing the Test button on the bottom of the icemaker, which should cause the tray to rotate then fill with water. For the water to freeze, the freezer temperature should be set to -2°F or colder. You can also press the Power Freeze button on the control panel to help speed the freezing process. Samsung recommends setting the refrigerator temperature to 38°F; if set too cold the water line could freeze.

If the tray did not fill with water, check the water supply valve to make sure it is on all the way, and make sure the line is not bent or kinked. If you've recently replaced the water filter, it may be necessary to press the Test button more than once to bleed air from the lines, so you should make sure there is a container under the icemaker to catch any water that spills. If the filter has not been changed recently, it may be clogged and needs to be replaced.

If the icemaker still won't fill with water or rotate to dump the ice, it may require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Thanks for the question. However, Samsung's microwaves are designed to be mounted over the range, attached to the cabinet above it and the wall behind it. These models also include a fan and cooktop light on the bottom, so they should not be installed sitting on a shelf or a countertop.

answer 1
The RF265ABWP is designed to produce approximately 5.3 pounds of ice per day under ideal conditions. Production may vary depending on freezer compartment temperature, room temperature, number of door openings and other factors, so if yours is making less than this, I would suggest checking the following:
- The recommended temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer compartments are 38°F and -2°F, respectively. If the freezer temperature is set higher than this, it could effect ice production. If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze.
- Is something pressing against the lever that detects when the ice bin is full? The icemaker will not produce ice if it detects a full bin.
- Have you tried pressing the Test button on the bottom of the icemaker to reset it?
- Have you replaced your water filter recently? A clogged or partially clogged filter can slow water flow and effect ice production. After replacing the filter, you can bleed air from the lines by pressing the Test button again, but be sure to have a container under the icemaker to catch water that spills when the ice tray rotates.
- Is your home's water pressure sufficient? In order for the ice maker to operate properly, water pressure of 20~125 psi is required. If the Refrigerator is installed in an area with low water pressure (below 20psi), you may be able to install a booster pump to compensate for the low pressure.
- The Power Freeze feature can help increase ice production by running the compressor for an extended period of time.

I hope these suggestions help to increase your ice production.

Question

How do I stop the leak under the cooling pantry?

There is a leak coming from a 'box' underneath the cooling pantry that sits at the back of the refrigerator, in the middle. I can not find out what this part is through the manual, nor does the troubleshooting guide provide much information. I have the Samsung French Door Model # RF265AB/RF266AB. This refrigerator is only 1.5 yrs old.

Water can pool on the bottom of the refrigerator, under the pantry drawer and vegetable compartments, due to condensation caused by doors being left open too long, for example. Please review the troubleshooting tips offered through this link for a similar model, following the instructions to help determine whether the water is accumulating as a result of condensation or if there is indeed an internal leak which would likely require service: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

After clicking on the above link, follow this path to the relevant article: Water And Ice > Water Is Leaking > Water Is Underneath The Vegetable Drawers

If, after reviewing these points, you continue to experience this issue, please contact Samsung for service either by submitting an online service request form through the troubleshooting page, or by calling 800-SAMSUNG.
