Thanks for the question. Though the compressor should come on and start cooling fairly quickly, it could take as long as 24 hours to reach the desired temperature. Factors influencing the speed of cooling include the difference between the set temperature and the room temperature, and whether warmer items were placed inside before the set temperature is reached.
If your refrigerator does not appear to be cooling, check to make sure it isn't on "demo" or "display" mode. The RF265ABWP should have a numeric temperature showing on the display. If it does not, and the letters "OF" are displayed there instead, then the refrigerator is in demo mode, meaning the cooling is off even though the lights are on. This is used for display purposes only. To enable cooling, simply press and hold the Power Freeze and Freezer buttons for 3 seconds, until you hear a chime.
