Unable to install new filter in refrigerator.

It is past due for a new filter. Purchased a new filter and attempted to install it today.

No problem removing the old filter, but I am unable to insert the new filter and seat into the housing and as such unable to lock into place.

What have I done incorrectly to cause this condition?

Question

Evaporator Panel

I have to get to the fan that is behind the evaporator panel in the top section of my refrigerator.
Besides the screws that hold it in place what is the trick to pulling the panel off.
I have both sides free but the top is still being held by some sort of clip.
Thanks for the suggestions in advance.

Question

Frost on rear of refrig most left side. Also, water line to ice maker frozen

The refrigerator was moved away from the wall for painting and we think the painter moved it back too close. The ice maker is not making ice and we don't hear water flow after testing with the reset button. In addition, there is frost in the vent holes at the rear of the refrigerator mostly on the left side. How would we clear that up without having to just unplug the unit and letting it totally defrost for a few days. Finally, when the ice maker does attempt to fill there is a chime that we hear.

Question

What is the water tubing to the icemaker made of?

There is much debate over the safety of certain plastic piping to deliver water. Can you tell me what the water lines are made of for a new French door fridge, Model RF4287HA? Some types include PVC, CPVC, HDPE and PEX.

Can I replace the plastic tubing going into the unit with copper? (Not just connecting to it with copper)

What type of plastic is the tray the ice sits in? what is that made of?

Question

Are any methods to retrofit wheels instaed of the standard sliders underneath the refrigerator?

I am planning on tiling my floors; however, the refrigerator can only slide forward and back. Is there a method or a future consideration to place wheels on the base of the refrigerator to permit moving the refrigerator a little easier than sliding. I think wheels would permit the refrigerator to move during the tiling process and afterwards with requiring the need to lift the device from the nook it resides.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

Your refrigerator already has rollers. You just need to raise the control levers. Please refer to page 13 in your product manual for additional information on this process. You'll need a flat-blade screwdriver. If your manual is not handy, you can refer to this PDF copy.

Question

WHat intervals should be used to clean the refrigerator?

For example, I prefer to clean the refrigerator once a month based on the older refrigerators I have owned. Ideally using an efficient refrigerator does not require such intervals. If so, what is the recommendation.

Contaminants come in sizes just like shoes, beads and fountain drinks. A drinking water filter is designed to capture certain sizes of contaminants. This means a filter may not be designed to capture all of them and the ones they do capture can build up in the filter over time. The purpose of a drinking water filter is to remove contaminants before they are ingested. Not changing a filter often enough will alter the quality of water received.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

If you did not change the water filter, it would eventually get clogged and you begin to notice water pressure loss and lower ice production. Eventually, water from the dispenser would cease and ice production would stop altogether. That being said, your refrigerator can be used without the water filter if you so choose.

But, we do recommend you use the water filter. If you ever wish to order a new water filter, you can do so via our parts supplier below.
