Question

Required opening width for french door refrigerator

I need to know if the Samsung model RF217ACRS would fit realistically in a 34 inch wide opening. One side has a cabinet that extends only 26 inches from the wall. The other side however has a 30 inch deep wall. What clearance is needed to open doors wide enough to remove drawers.

Thanks

I had mine serviced about a year ago. behind the panel in the back of the fridge is a drain and it gets frozen . i had to pay for service and the service man thawed the drain line and put in a piece of steel longer than the one that was there whicih heats up and suppose to keep the drain line free from ice. well it has started again i opened the back of the fridge and thawed that drain line. that lasted about a week and my bins are filling again. i usually love samsung products but this refrigerator has not been up to par. i will have to call the service man out and pay for another visit and see what it will take to repair it.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. If water is pooling underneath the vegetable/crisper drawers, clean the water and re-check a 2 - 3 hours later. The water may be a spill that went unnoticed. If you verify that this is not a spill, and water continues to pool under the drawers, service is required. Please complete a service request here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request

Thank you for contacting Samsung. The ice maker arm feeler should be down and in position to detect the ice in the bucket. Also, you may wish to check that the ice maker button on the top left of the control panel isn't turned off.

Question

REF; French Door Refrigerator Model# RF217/ACWF

We obtained a New Model RF217 French Door Refrigerator / Freezer. The unit is less than a week old and works as expected. I pulled the freezer drawer out and heard a clang as though something had dropped in the freezer. I checked out the bottom of the freezer compartment, under the drawers and noticed a steel 1/4th inch X 23.5 inch long black key stock, laying on the bottom of the freezer compartment. So the question is where does it go? Can you provide a complete schematic and parts list of the freezer compartment and it’s components? To Show where it goes.

Question

Ice coming through hole in refrigerator compartment

Hi. Inside my Samsung refrigerator model rf217 near the top shelf, there is a small plastic part plugged into the inside back wall. I just discovered that it had popped out, and brownish ice is coming out the hole where the plastic plug used to be inserted.

What is this hole? Should I be concerned about the ice? What should I do abou it?

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

On the backside wall of the Twin Cooling logo is the evaporator. Our home appliance specialist indicates the brownish ice/water is what forms on the evaporator itself. He says it does not contribute to the water or ice you consume and that you should simply plug it back up. By leaving it unplugged, the air in your fridge is mixing with the air in the evaporator, which is much colder and can lead to issues.
