Thanks for the question. There are a few factors that can influence the water flow from the dispenser:
1. Is the water pressure supplying the refrigerator between 20-120 psi?
2. Is the water valve at the connection point to the refrigerator fully open?
3. Are there any kinks in the water line coming into the refrigerator?
4. Does the water filter need to be replaced?

Here's a simple way of determining whether the water filter is what's slowing the water flow down: try dispensing a glass of water after removing the water filter cartridge. If the water dispenses faster without the filter, then the filter needs to be replaced.

Regarding the ice cubes, I would suggest checking the ice chute to see if there are crushed cubes that were left in the chute from the previous use of the dispenser, or are there broken pieces accumulated in the bottom/front of the ice bucket. Either scenario is a likely cause.

The single refrigerator door on the RB217ABRS can be set up to open from either side. The factory default has the door hinged on the right side, so it swings open from left to right. Since the RB217ABRS has a pull-drawer for the freezer, you would need to follow only the refrigerator door reversal portion of the instructions.

The RB217ABRS cannot be ordered without the icemaker, and Samsung does not currently make any refrigerators without an automatic icemaker built-in. The icemaker can be turned off, however, and the space occupied by the ice storage bin can be used to store other types of food, as well. If you do choose to install the RB217ABRS without connecting it to a water supply, be sure to press the ICE OFF button on the control panel to deactivate the icemaker so the unit does not attempt to draw water to fill the trays, which would make unnecessary noises.

Stainless Platinum is Samsung's fingerprint-resistant finish that resembles real stainless steel, but is not an exact match. Many people find that Stainless Platinum is easier to keep clean than real stainless. In addition, customers who like to display photos or kids' artwork on their refrigerators may prefer Stainless Platinum which is magnetic while most real stainless is not.

Stainless Platinum is a coated and painted metal, so as long as the protective coating remains intact, it should resist rusting and stains. I can't tell you whether they have the same gauge of thickness since they are different materials, but I can tell you that they have the same insulation and will store your foods equally well.

I would suggest contacting your local appliance retailer, hardware or home improvement store for advice on selecting a water filtration system that suits your needs. Instructions for installing an external filtration system to the RB217 can be found on page 11 of the User Manual, which can be downloaded from this website. However, please note that Samsung no longer manufactures the filter cartridge number mentioned in the manual.
