To find a retailer near you that carries the RB217ABPN, please click on the "Where to buy" button on the right side of the product's home page, then enter your zip code and select a radius. If this does not return the desired results, try expanding the radius, searching other zip codes in neighboring areas, or contacting retailers that carry the same model in other colors to see if they can order your preferred color. Distribution of particular models changes frequently, so checking back periodically may yield different results. Thank you for your interest in Samsung!

download manual from website and they give exact requirements: In general 1 inch on sides and top and 2 in the back is enough. Since this model has indent in the side of the door as a "handle," make sure that the unit is 1 to 2 inches outside of the cabinet space.
We purchase this unit and are extremely pleased.

The RB217ABPN is a free-standing and portable refrigerator, not a "built-in", though it can have a built-in appearance if the cabinetry is designed around the refrigerator's measurements.

The RB217ABPN's dimensions are 32-1/4" wide by 68-3/4" high (behind the hinge) by 26-3/4" deep (without door). Samsung recommends leaving 1" on each side, 2" on top and 2" behind the refrigerator to allow sufficient air flow for the cooling system to work properly and most efficiently. Therefore, if your goal is to have the RB217 appear built-in, the space for it should be 34-1/4" wide by 70-3/4" high by 28-3/4" deep.

The RB217ABPN can be hinged on the right or the left side. The factory default is for the unit to hinge on the right (opening from left to right), but the left hinge parts come packaged with each unit.

I'm sorry to hear you're having these issues with your RB217ABPN. The most likely explanation is that the door was removed, perhaps to fit through a doorway or to reverse the swing, and it was not reattached properly. Please review the instructions found on the following page to determine whether the wires are attached correctly: http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa...

Since these wires control the "door ajar" beeping as well as the lights, it is important for them to be attached correctly. If this does not resolve the issue, I would suggest either contacting the installer, if this was a recent purchase, or Samsung directly for service, if the refrigerator had been working correctly, and these problems are a recent occurrence.

It's not unusual for the door hinge to develop a squeak after some time. Try applying a small amount of WD40 to the hinge, being careful to wipe up excess lubricant to prevent it from dripping onto any food.

Question

How do I test the evaporator fan to see if it works?

I have water filling the bottom of the upper unit constantly. I removed the long panel that contains the fan and found ice at the botton of the coils. I need to know how to test the fan when out of the unit. The wires are red, black, and white. The fan is DC 12v. What color is positive and what color is negative. On the connectors located permanently in side the unit, behind the cover, what connections do I test for DC 12v? Is the power on all the time?

Question

Refrigerator door slams - can I adjust the level of the door from front to back?

I see in the manual how to level from left to right with the control levers, but my refrigerator is tilted a little back (ie, the front is higher than the back) - causing the door to slam shut hard, spilling things in pitchers.

If it was tilted forward, the control levers would help, but that's not the case. Has anyone been able to level a tilted-backward fridge?

The RF217 was designed to lean back slightly to help the doors close more easily but the interior of the unit should be level. You can check that by placing a level inside of the refrigerator. As more weight is added to the door storage, the doors are likely to close more slowly, making the "tilt" more desirable. The front legs can be adjusted to help level the refrigerator, if necessary, but it should not be adjusted more than the leveling legs will allow. For more information, please feel free to call 800-SAMSUNG to speak to an agent.

Power outages are sometimes accompanied by surges that can damage the refrigerator. If your RB217 has an error code displayed and is not responsive, it may require service. These codes are part of an internal diagnostic system that will help guide a qualified technician to identify the cause of an issue and find a solution. When you unplug the refrigerator, the error codes and other history may be cleared from the refrigerator's memory, so Samsung does not recommend doing this unless advised to do so by an authorized technician. To initiate the service process, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. The water that is accumulating may be the result of condensation or it could be an indication of a leak that would require service to repair.
