It is not unusual to have a small amount of water occasionally condense in the drawers or on the bottom of the RB215ABPN as a result of the high humidity level of the Twin Cooling System. Please wipe up the water and wait 24 hours, opening the refrigerator door as little as possible. If the water accumulates again by the next day, service may be necessary. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Sounds like the same problem we had. The main control board is bad and does not properly defrost the line so it freezes. Then when it does finally defrost it overflows the drain lines into the veggie drawers. Ours started on the left hand side and then moved to the right hand side. Then after owning it for only 2 years and 10 months, the fridge stopped working all together. The repair bill to replace the main control board is over $500.00 which was half the cost of the fridge. Three separate independent repair companies were contacted by us and all of them told us the same thing, you can pay to replace the board but it is likely that something else will go bad within another 2-3 years. As soon as we described the problem, they would say, "It is a Samsung, right?" I was shocked that it went bad so soon. One company recommended defrosting the back panel of the fridge with a hairdryer, so you might try that, but it is only a short term fix. If you have had it less than a year, you can play the warranty game. Good luck with yours, I really hope it turns out better for you than it did for us.

The RB215ABPN is 26-3/4" deep without the door, so is not considered counter depth. However, the RB195ABPN, which is 24-3/4" deep without the door, is the counter depth version of Samsung's Stainless Platinum bottom freezer style refrigerator.

Should I be able to see styrofoam in the back inside of the fridge?

In the back inside of the fridge I am seeing material that appears to be styrfoam behind the "Twin Cooling" circle. Was this supposed to be removed when it was installed?

What you are seeing is normal, and is not intended to be removed during installation. This filler is part of the refrigerator's insulation system, and should be mostly covered by the "Twin Cooling" emblem. Thank you for the question.

There are several differences between real stainless steel and Samsung's Stainless Platinum. The key difference that many people note is that real stainless steel is usually not magnetic, so if you like to hang photos and kids' artwork on your refrigerator, you might want to choose our Stainless Platinum because it is magnetic. Also, Stainless Platinum is fingerprint-resistant and very easy to care for.

Question

How do you safely clean the glass shelves?

Obviously, I can pull out the shelves and clean them, however the problem lies when something spills onto the shelf in the refrigerator and finds itself between the plastic housing and the glass shelf itself. The housing seems to be so tightly surrounding the glass with no way to open it up and get to the glass all by itself. Does anyone know of any good practices here without running the risk of breaking the glass while tearing apart the plastic housing?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. I would suggest soaking the shelf in warm soapy water to try to remove spills trapped at the joints between the glass and the plastic edges.

Thanks for the question. It's not unusual for icecubes to break, especially the ones on the bottom of the bucket which can be broken by other cubes as they are dropped on top of them. There are likely a number of factors that can contribute to an icecube's brittleness, such as temperature, amount of air and minerals in the water, etc.

The RB215ACPN has two pull-out drawers in the freezer. Both are made of solid plastic (not wire), and the upper drawer houses a storage bin for ice supplied by the automatic icemaker.

This model also features reversible swing doors on both the refrigerator and freezer, Samsung's signature Twin Cooling system, which helps keep food fresh longer, and beautiful LED lighting for improved energy efficiency.

This particular model actually takes two 40 watt light bulbs, so it's possible that one has burned out and needs to be replaced. For detailed instructions on changing the interior bulb, please refer to page 26 of the User Manual. Great question! The RB215ABxx has a swing door on the bottom freezer. Inside the freezer, food is stored in two pull-out bin drawers. The RB217ABxx has a pull-out freezer drawer with an EZ Open Handle, similar to Samsung's French Door models.

Both the RB215ABxx and the RB217ABxx have Samsung's signature Twin Cooling System, which helps keep food fresh longer. The doors are reversible to open from either the right or the left, and the freezers are equipped with automatic icemakers. Both are also Energy Star-rated for efficiency.
