Questions & Answers for samsung RB195ACWP

Question

How do I clean between the clear and white parts of the fruit and vegetable drawers?

The fruit and vegetable drawers have a clear front panel that is attached to the white bin. There is food debris and water stuck in between the two. Can I take them apart to clean or will that break the drawer? How do I clean in between the clear and white parts of the drawers? This is a fairly new refrigerator but this looks disgusting. Thank you.

Thank you for the question. There is no OEM replacement for the discontinued external filter for this model. I would suggest contacting your local appliance or home improvement retailer for assistance choosing an external filtration system that will meet your needs. The user manual provides instructions for attaching an external filter to the refrigerator.

If the door alarm on your RB195 is chiming and the door appears to be closed, it's possible the wiring harness under the hinge cover is not fully connected, or the door may not be sealing properly. In addition to checking the wiring connection, make sure the refrigerator is level, particularly left to right since this could effect the door seal. You can also check the seal by inserting a dollar bill between the door and the fridge then closing the door. If the bill can be pulled out with little or no resistance, the gasket may be damaged and should be replaced. Be sure to try this in several locations around the door to check the seal.

The RB195 and other Bottom Freezer models offer the ability to store the tallest items on the door - see attached image for an example. You can also raise the middle shelf to the highest setting to store some tall items on the bottom shelf inside the fridge compartment.

The RB195ACBP is 32-1/4" wide and Samsung recommends leaving at least 1" on each side for circulation and ease of movement. While the door does not swing far past the hinge when it is open, the curvature of the door may interfere with the door opening to 90-degrees depending on the depth of the adjacent wall. Please refer to the attached image showing the available measurement details of a similar model from various angles.

Thanks for the question. The Stainless Platinum finish on the RB195ACPN resembles stainless steel though it is not an exact match. Many people like the Platinum finish on the larger surface area of the refrigerator because, unlike real stainless, it is magnetic as well as being fingerprint resistant, so it is easy to clean. If having an exact match to the DMT800RHS is important to you, then there are a number of refrigerator models to choose from that do have the real stainless steel finish.

Thank you for the question. Please try pressing the Test button on the bottom of the icemaker which should cause the tray to rotate then fill with water. It may be necessary to press the button multiple times in order to bleed the air from the lines. Also, make sure the Ice Off button on the control panel is not lit up.

Question

how do you start a rb195acbp refrigerator

asked 3 years ago

1 answer
Answers
answer 1
The RB195ACBP should start automatically when you plug it into a working power supply. Once you set the temperature using the control panel, the compressor should turn on within a few minutes and start to produce cold air, though it can take up to 24 hours to cool completely.

If the lights turn on but it does not start to cool, it's possible the refrigerator is in Cooling Off mode which is used for in-store display purposes; the letters "OF" may also be illuminated on the control panel. If this is the case, press the Power Freeze and Freezer buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds until a chime sounds and a numeric reading returns to the display, allowing you to set the desired temperature. The compressor should turn on in a few minutes and begin producing cold air.

If this does not resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

It can take as long as 24 hours for your RB195 to reach the set temperatures in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments. However, if the freezer is cooling properly but the refrigerator is not, it may require service. Please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Thanks for the question. There are several factors that can effect the ability of the icemaker to produce ice, in particular the availability of water to fill the tray, and the temperature of the freezer once the tray is filled with water. First, make sure the Ice Off button on the control panel has not been pressed. Next, try pressing the Test button on the bottom of the icemaker, which should cause the tray to rotate then fill with water. For the water to freeze, the freezer temperature should be set to -2°F or colder. You can also press the Power Freeze button on the control panel to help speed the freezing process.

If the tray did not fill with water, check the water supply valve to make sure it is on all the way, and make sure the line is not bent or kinked. If you have an external filtration system installed, make sure the filter is not clogged. Samsung recommends setting the refrigerator temperature to 38°F; if set too cold the water line could freeze. It may be necessary to press the Test button more than once when the water line is first installed to bleed air from the line.

If the icemaker still won't fill with water or rotate to dump the ice, it may require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for the question. The Samsung water filter part number (DA29-00015A) mentioned in the RB195 user manual has been discontinued. Your local retailer should be able to help you choose a filtration system that best meets your needs, which can then be connected to the refrigerator water line as instructed in the user manual.
