I'm sorry to hear you have an error code displayed on your RB1944SL. These codes are part of an internal diagnostic system that will help guide a qualified technician to identify the cause of an issue and find a solution. When you unplug the refrigerator, the error codes and other history is cleared from the refrigerator's memory, so Samsung does not recommend doing this unless advised to do so by an authorized technician. To initiate the service process, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you.

Question

My RB1944SL refrigerator has started "chirping". It chirps in 45 second intervals.

Everything seems to be working alright, the temp readings are stable and both the freezer & refrigerator are working as they should. The seals were cleaned but I cleaned them again anyway. I tried unplugging the cord and waited 5 mins but the chirping continues even when unplugged! Is there a battery in this thing that might need changing?

Some noises the refrigerator makes are normal and can be minimized by properly leveling the refrigerator or making other minor adjustments; others may indicate a need for service. The "chirping" noise may actually be the door open alarm, which can sound with the door closed if the wiring harness is not properly connected, though I haven't heard of it sounding with the refrigerator unplugged. I would suggest you visit the Troubleshooting Guide through the link below, then select "Troubleshooting ► Noise/Vibration ► Unusual Noises ► > Beeping": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If the suggestions and explanations do not resolve your concern, please contact 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Question

I am renting and the refrigerator is a Samsung. For the first year, the tempurature on the outside door showed -2 and everything was fine.

Then one day the temperature gauge said -8, then it dropped to -12. Now stuff inside the refrigerator is freezing like lettuce, celery and other vegetables.Pressing the outside buttons doesn't seem to do anything and I don't have a manual. How can I adjust the temperature of the freezer and the refrigerator? The refrigerator is a Samsung RB1944SL.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the temperature in your RB1944SL. First, check to see if the Child Lock has been activated which would prevent the control panel buttons from responding. To activate/deactivate the Child Lock, press the Freezer Temp and Refrigerator Temp buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds. If you are still unable to adjust the temperature, the refrigerator may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.
