On the TV's menu, under Picture, you need to scroll down until you see the "3D" menu option. It's not visible until you scroll down. Select it and you'll see that 3D is off by default. Try one of the other settings.

Question

Why do you not provide Skype on this model?

I use Skype a lot on my computers and would welcome the opportunity to use it on my new PN51D6500 Samsung TV, but you do not provide it. That means I will never need to buy your Skype camera accessory. That does not make sense to me. Please provide Skype as an available App that we can download. That way, I will get what I want and you will sell a lot more cameras. Is that not sound business sense?

From the available information, the Samsung TVs will only have support to display Jpeg pictures. If the file is not Jpeg, the TV will not be able to display the picture.

Unfortunately, headphone jacks are not available on this unit; however you can still connect headphones to this unit with a third party headphone device (either through RCA, 3.5mm jack or Optical). Since the audio outputs on this unit are a fixed pass through type of connection, you would need an intermediary device to control the volume, since the TV does not have control of the volume coming out of the analogue and digital audio outputs. Additionally, the Samsung TVs will not offer direct wireless connectivity to wireless capable headphones.

As with computers, LAN connection is always better. But WIFI is more convenient. If you have a LAN cable at your TV go for it. WIFI has the possibility of the signal being interrupted (even 1 second of interruption is annoying)

If you are using a cable or dish box it might be limiting your output to 720p. Each box has it's own setup procedure so I cannot help you any further. But do an internet search of your cable boxes model and the words setup menu ("8300hd setup menu") and you will find out how to access the menu to change from 720p to 1080i

Push the button marked "P. SIZE" on the bottom of your remote several times and see if you are in a zoom mode. You should be in screen fit-move. The 16:9 setting is a little oversized. If you use a cable or dish box , it may have a similar button.

In order to access Captioning, you will want to head into the TV's menu, then into the setup or system sub-menu to access the CC options or to just activate it, press the CC button on the remote control. However, CC is only available via the coax cable since the CC signal has to be sent by your service provider. The CC information cannot be sent via HDMI or other secondary connections from 3rd party devices. That said, most service provider set top boxes and DVD/BD players will handle CC on board, which will then be displayed on the TV as part of the video signal. Captions are subject to your service provider’s availability. Additionally, the CC option cannot be set to come on automatically when MUTE is activated.

Question

How to prepare files for 3D display?

My TV is connected to a PC. I'd like to create some videos that display in 3D. I've made an MPEG with two side by side views, one slightly rotated. I play this with the "Bino" freeware 3D player. The TV shows one of these images to my left eye and the other to my right eye, but the right image is shifted almost off-screen (part of it wraps around and appears on the left side). One frame of the movie is shown below. Can you tell me what might be wrong?

Since you are using a 3rd party application to stream the file, I will not be able to offer any support. That said, the Samsung 3D TVs will not offer 3D file playback capabilities. It can, however, convert 2D images to 3D directly on the TV with out having to convert them first on your PC.
