My TV started having the same problem a month ago. First it started with a little bit Red pixel Snow on the right edge of the screen. I was advised by Samsung to update the firmware. The firmware is supposed to adjust the voltage for the screen to take care of this problem. If the firmware update does not work, you need to have Samsung send you a technician to make additional voltage adjustments from the inside. A quick process. My TV after the firmware actually got worse. Instead of the Red Snow, the right side of my screen glowed red. The technician quickly adjusted the internal voltage and everything is fine now. Note: Other brands of Plasma TVs also have the same issue. It is not limited to Samsung Models.

I beleive that there is a firmware update that you can download in the Support section of the pge for your TV. Be sureto downloadthe instruction manual as well. It says that it addresses "red spot" and "spark" issues, so it could help. Just be careful updating firmware, mistakes can be expensive.
I had the red pixels on my Plasma tv and did the firmware upgrade 1006 to 1008 that fixed the problem and the tv is perfect now with an excellent picture.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Red Bar at the bottom of the screen frame for the PN50C450. That lights up slightly on it's own but you don't have the option to "turn it on/off".
there is no light under the screen. At least none that I know of.

I’m sorry you are having an issue with your device. With the information you have provided, it would be best if you navigate to the Samsung Support Page and either click on the link to speak with a Live Rep directly under the “Contact Support” section in the middle of the page or request service for your device under the “Schedule a Repair” section.

The PN50C450 does not support direct internet connection through apps. You can get to Netflix if you have a Wii, XBOX360, PS3 or any other device (most current Blu-ray players) that support the Netflix app. You can also connect a laptop or PC to your TV and get Netflix that way as well.
Although this model does not have direct access to Samsung Apps or any other internet content, it can access App content through a 2010 Samsung BD player (the blu-ray player will handle the Internet content processing).

It seems that your TV is in Demo/Store mode. Please follow the link below for more information on how to deactivate demo/store mode.
Try unplugging the power cord and re-plugging it in. When it first starts up, it should ask if you want home or store mode or something like that. Pick home mode.

From the information I have, the C450 will only support 2.1 audio out of the optical audio output when processing a signal from a digital source (HDMI), but will support 5.1 output from a coaxial source (cable).

Question
Does the PN50C450 have ConnectShare™ Movie?
From the features tab on the PN50C450 it talks about ConnectShare™ Movie yet I show nothing about this in the manual or within the option menu. Does the Series 4 TV's not have this feature, if if not why do they post it as a feature on their website.

Unfortunately the PN50C450 does not have connect shareMovie, it only has ConnectShare™ JPEG. I ran into this problem myself thinking that it did (because that's what the website was saying). However after contacting Samsung they said "sorry but NO".
IMOP they need to do a system update and make this part of the offering for the PN50C450.
I also noticed that this was listed in the description of features, but my PN50C450, which I purchased a couple of weeks after it became available, does not have this feature.

Yes, when viewing digital channels with the built in digital tuner it does display signal strength. You just have to press the "Info" button on the remote control.
I'm assuming your talking about connecting an antenna to the TV to pick up OTA (Over The Air) digital TV. When setting up the digital antenna it will scan for all available channels. In the advance menu setting you can see the signal strength for each channel (weak or strong). However when your watching the TV they do not give you any kind of signal strength indicator on the screen. If the signal is too weak to pick up the station it will say "signal too weak" but that's about it.

Unfortunately, Samsung can not suggest any specific calibration numbers since every calibration has to be done based on the preferences of the customer performing the low level calibration. Perhaps other users on this forum may be able to better help you out.

All current generation Samsung TVs are digital cable ready. All of our TVs include a coax ATSC/QAM tuner that handles digital and analogue broadcast signals as well. No external boxes or equipment needed to view your basic cable. Premium service may require additional equipment and fees. Please contact your service provider for details.
This really depends on where you live and what the cable service provider in your area is doing in regards to HD television reception. For example, in the Lexington, Kentucky and northern Kentucky Insight Communications Cable areas, you WILL need a digital cable box or a mini-box in order to veiw any cable programming regardless of the type of TV you have because of the transition to ALL-DIGITAL programming and the addition of more HD channels. This could be true in other areas of the country as well. Check with your local cable provider for more details in your area.

Question
How do I get firmware for samsung plasma television?
I received a notice today re model PN50C450B2DXZA firmware offer. My television has Z8 serial number range which makes it within the range for the firmware. I don't know where to go on the website to view the appropriate information.
You can go to Above address. There are two files, Download both, then read the PDF one which is the "how to” guide to update your firmware.

As a matter of fact, any of the Samsung SoundBars will work great with the C450, or any other Samsung TV for that matter. And you wont have to worry about compatibility since all of the SoundBars and TVs offer both optical and analogue audio connections.
Although the wattage and amperage numbers are not readily available (since daily usage varies from owner to owner depending on settings and content), I can say that most all current generation Samsung TVs are EnergyStar4.0 compliant. This ensures the best possible performance with minimal power usage.
Just bought this TV and notice that the picture does not go the full screen of the TV and that it is in picture box screen (about 2-3 inches of black) on the left and right. Can someone help me figure out how to make it full screen

I would be happy to help you out with this. In order to change the aspect ratio (screen size), you will want to head into the TV's menu, then to the picture sub-menu. Once there, head into the "Picture Options" option. Within that option, you will see the "Size" adjustment. Clicking into that will allow you to change the picture size of the screen.
