I had the same problem with my Samsung NX-1000 camera I just bought. I finally realized that you have to un-zip the firmware file before you put it on your SD card. Once I did this I was able to upgrade the firmware from 1.01 to the latest 1.11.
We'd like to assist you, but we're going to need additional information so that we can better address your concerns. We recommend you email us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com. Please provide a brief description of your product issue, as well as the product model, serial number and your contact info.
Is it possible to upgrade your camera's firmware using a Mac instead of a PC? If I don't own a PC, how can I upgrade my NX1000's firmware?

Thank you for contacting Samsung. We'll be happy to assist you with your problem. Please contact us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com and provide us with your version of OS X. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!
Download the firmware zip flies>unzip the files>format you memory card>up the unzipped files on the memory card(just the files, not the folder)>put memory card back in camera>in settings goto firmware and you should be able to update.
Always start with the older firmware available and work to the newest one at a time ie dont go from 1.01 to 1.12. start with 1.10 then 1.11 then 1.12

The problem was related to a 32gb SD Memory Card and went away when I replaced it. Trying to format the 32gb SD showed it was unreliable and prone to errors.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. I understand your situation. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to remove products from your account. We apologize for the inconvenience. However, to update details on your product, go to this link: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/register/product
You should now see a page with a sentence near the top: "Do you want update to information on any of your products?" Please click on 'Update Registration' which is to the right of that. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!
Using the autofocus setting, the camera will not focus and allow me to take a picture when viewing far away objects or the sky. What I need is an infinity autofocus setting. I am trying to avoid needing to manually focus since every time I recycle power the manual focus has to be repeated (is not retained in the camera)!

We suggest you use the Smart Auto setting. In Smart Auto mode, the camera recognizes surrounding conditions and automatically adjusts factors that contribute to exposure, including shutter speed, aperture value, metering, White Balance, and exposure compensation. As the camera controls most of the functions, some shooting functions are limited. This mode is useful for capturing quick snapshots with the least amount of adjustment.
You can read more about this feature on page 43 of the user manual.
When I try and change the option to Continuous High under Smart Mode, I only get one uption under the "Drive" and it's single. Since the main reasin I bought this camera is to duplicate a DSLR-like mode, and do it as simply as possible, it seems counter-intuitive that the Smart mode wouldn't allow a continuous shot. Please advise.

We have conferred with our resident camera expert and he indicates that you will need to use Program mode. Please see page 44 in the following PDF manual for more info.
Why doesn't your intellistudio support transfer of RAW images, or updating NX1000 firmware?
The NX1000 website information says you can update NX1000 firmware using intellistudio, but the current release says Camera not supported when you try. And its File Transfer ignores RAW files1 what's up with that? EVERY file transfer I have ever used will transfer RAW files, except yours... Also, selecting Email to communicate with Samsung simply does NOT work. It gets into a mess when you try to select the problem... I love the camera, but a little support would go a long way with your customers...

Thank you for contacting Samsung. For loading the firmware, an alternative method is to load the firmware onto the card and then load it that way. Please note that you should do so with more than 50% charge and not turn off the device because otherwise it may damage your camera.
If you have any further questions, please contact us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com and let us know how we can assist you further. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!
Why when on auto mode will the camera not let me take a picture if it is out of focus?
It is so frustrating, surely just because the camera doesn't think it is in focus doesn't mean I can't take the picture?
Are there any options to change focus mode on Smart Auto?
Thanks.

When I zoom the lens in and out to capture pictures up close and far away. The lens seems to not zoom in smoothly, as if it need to have an oil or lubricant added to the lens. It is the lens that came with the camera. The 20-50 OIS lens does not have this problem. Help please, should I return the product?

"No response from server" message when attempting to connect to social networks.
My question is the same as the other in this section. I get a "no response from server" message when trying to connect to FaceBook, Picasa, etc. with my NX1000.
I know it is not a problem with the (multiple) networks I have tried, because I have connected to all of them with more than one device and had no problem. I have the correct passwords and use those networks with all my other devices. It is not a problem with any of the networks I am trying to use, it is a problem with the NX1000.
How can I resolve this issue?

No response from the server message all the time when connecting to Skydrive, Picasa, Youtube?
The WiFi connection appeared successful, but I could not connect to any of my Social Network accounts. Please help me resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. This suggests that your connection isn't working. For troubleshooting purposes, turn of any security that you have on your wireless network and attempt to connect that way. If you're able to, this would suggest a problem with either your encryption type or password. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!
Your remote control app does not use the camera settings the user sets, but only shoots jpeg.
I love this camera, and I love to shoot RAW, and having a remote would be of great value to me in low light shooting... I loved that you had a Remote Viewfinder App for the cameras... However, that app doesn't just shoot, it changes your settings! Now Why would a Pro want anything like that? I don't think your app engineers understand professional users. If you want to seem Professional, you should be a bit more professional in your software products... Very Low class app. It was working on my phone, with few problems, until the recent update (2.2.11), which really messed it up so it wouldn't work at all. It kept messing up my wireless settings until I deleted it... Big dissapointment! I thought you guys had a good thing going until it stopped working altogether... Hope someone fixes that soon...

How do you upgrade the lens firmware on a NX1000 from 1.00 to 1.10?
I have the 20-50mm lens and I'm trying to upgrade to 1.10. I place the lens.bin file in the root directory of my SD after formatting, but when I navigate to the firmware upgrade through the menu it is grayed out. My body firmware is 1.13.
