Thank you for contacting Samsung. This suggests that your connection isn't working. For troubleshooting purposes, turn of any security that you have on your wireless network and attempt to connect that way. If you're able to, this would suggest a problem with either your encryption type or password. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!

I had the same problem; the camera firmware is now in ver. 1.13 and I had 1.11. Intelli-studio does not support firmware updates for the NV-1000.

In the downloads section of this site get the PDF with instructions on how to manually upgrade the firmware for your NX-1000 camera. The instructions are clear but incomplete for a first time user. There are good caps of the camera menus. What the instructions do not tell you follows:

In the camera menu, Firmware Update will show in gray and cannot be selected until the new firmware version is in the root directory on the card in the camera. Only then can Firmware Update be selected with the OK button. Lack of this information confused me and cost me a lot of time.

The contents of the downloaded .zip with the new firmware version must be unzipped on the computer before use in the camera. Then the update contents can be copied to the root directory of the card in the computer or onto the card in the camera using the USB cable to connect the camera and the computer. If you use the USB cable, after transferring the update to the card, turn the camera off and remove the USB cable.

If you had the card in the computer, put it back in the camera. Once the update is on the card and the card is back in the camera, restart the camera and use the Settings menu 3 to go to Device Information and then you will see Firmware Update is now lit up. Select that and follow the instructions in the PDF.

I had the same problem with my Samsung NX-1000 camera I just bought. I finally realized that you have to un-zip the firmware file before you put it on your SD card. Once I did this I was able to upgrade the firmware from 1.01 to the latest 1.11.

As the technology improves, megapixel specifications will likely continue to rise.

With higher megapixel ratings also come larger file sizes, so "bigger" may not always be "better" for regular use.

Alexaa,

You can!!

Download the firmware zip flies>unzip the files>format you memory card>up the unzipped files on the memory card(just the files, not the folder)>put memory card back in camera>in settings goto firmware and you should be able to update.

Always start with the older firmware available and work to the newest one at a time ie dont go from 1.01 to 1.12. start with 1.10 then 1.11 then 1.12

Question

Your remote control app does not use the camera settings the user sets, but only shoots jpeg.

I love this camera, and I love to shoot RAW, and having a remote would be of great value to me in low light shooting... I loved that you had a Remote Viewfinder App for the cameras... However, that app doesn't just shoot, it changes your settings! Now Why would a Pro want anything like that? I don't think your app engineers understand professional users. If you want to seem Professional, you should be a bit more professional in your software products... Very Low class app. It was working on my phone, with few problems, until the recent update (2.2.11), which really messed it up so it wouldn't work at all. It kept messing up my wireless settings until I deleted it... Big dissapointment! I thought you guys had a good thing going until it stopped working altogether... Hope someone fixes that soon...

Question

Auto focus stopped working on my nx1000 in smart mode.

I found that auto focus still worked on all other modes. I tried the auto focus button but it didn't seem to do anything. When I tried the auto focus button in other modes I got icons that gave me some choices but I never got those icons in smart mode. I installed the firmware upgrade and found that auto focus was working again in smart mode. Today I found once again that auto focus was no longer working in smart mode but ok in all other modes. It is as though the camera is stuck in manual focus for smart mode only. Once again, I reloaded the firmware and auto focus works in smart mode, however I still see no icons when I push the auto focus button in smart mode but they are there in all other modes. Thanks in advance for your help..........Dan Washuk

Question

Auto Focus Problem

Why when on auto mode will the camera not let me take a picture if it is out of focus?

It is so frustrating, surely just because the camera doesn't think it is in focus doesn't mean I can't take the picture?

Are there any options to change focus mode on Smart Auto?

Thanks.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

From the user manual:

"In Smart Auto mode, the camera recognizes surrounding conditions and automatically adjusts factors that contribute to exposure, including shutter speed, aperture value, metering, White Balance, and exposure compensation. As the camera controls most of the functions, some shooting functions are limited. This mode is useful for capturing quick
snapshots with the least amount of adjustment."

We recommend you review pages 43-55 of the PDF user manual below for more info on Shooting Modes.

Autofocus on far objects?

Using the autofocus setting, the camera will not focus and allow me to take a picture when viewing far away objects or the sky. What I need is an infinity autofocus setting. Question

Can you continuously shoot in Smart mode??

When I try and change the option to Continuous High under Smart Mode, I only get one uption under the "Drive" and it's single. Since the main reasin I bought this camera is to duplicate a DSLR-like mode, and do it as simply as possible, it seems counter-intuitive that the Smart mode wouldn't allow a continuous shot. Please advise.

Question

"No response from server" message when attempting to connect to social networks.

My question is the same as the other in this section. I get a "no response from server" message when trying to connect to FaceBook, Picasa, etc. with my NX1000.

I know it is not a problem with the (multiple) networks I have tried, because I have connected to all of them with more than one device and had no problem. I have the correct passwords and use those networks with all my other devices. It is not a problem with any of the networks I am trying to use, it is a problem with the NX1000.

How can I resolve this issue?

Question

Why doesn't your intellistudio support transfer of RAW images, or updating NX1000 firmware?

The NX1000 website information says you can update NX1000 firmware using intellistudio, but the current release says Camera not supported when you try. And its File Transfer ignores RAW files1 what's up with that? EVERY file transfer I have ever used will transfer RAW files, except yours... Also, selecting Email to communicate with Samsung simply does NOT work. It gets into a mess when you try to select the problem... I love the camera, but a little support would go a long way with your customers...
