After sleep, boot or restart, screensaver settings are lost.
On my Gamer 7 (NP700G7C) laptop, every time I boot, restart, or sleep, my screensaver settings revert to the default which is one minute (so I lose my graphics every 1 minute while gaming or working but not typing or mousing.)
I have (under run as administrator) set to off all the fast-start and fast-boot settings.)
How can I get my screensaver turned off for good -- i.e. how do I get my screensaver settings to "stick"?
Thank you

Based on our research, this issue is most often tied to interference from a third-party software installation or a corrupt Windows profile. We recommend you review the following troubleshooting article for more insight into this issue. Try creating a new user profile attempt and then once logged in, make the screensaver settings changes to see if the issue persists.
We also see that a firmware update for this laptop was released on 2/27/2012. If you have not applied this update, we recommend you refer to the following link and download this update by navigating to Manuals & Downloads > Firmware.
Yeah, that's not exactly the right information the Samsung Tech gave you. That problem exists straight out of the box. I've yet to fix it and it's really annoying because I love that Screensaver that came with the laptop. But it also sets off automatically after 60 seconds and you can't keep the settings to change it to 45 minutes or any other setting. So, it's annoying that you only get 59 seconds before your screensaver launches. You can save the setting if you disable all screensavers though.
Upon boot up, these buttons automatically become active, WiFi ON, keyboard illumination ON. I desire to have these function OFF until I wish them ON. I use a CAT5E cable & an external keyboard. Thus both functions ON is unnecessary, wasteful of battery power & could become a major issue should a viral infection occur. I have gone to the Easy Display Manager app & disabled the WiFi, but it will @ times restore it's on condition. Certainly, when it does as I wish upon reboot it will return to it's default ON condition! Why have a control if it doesn't respond to me wishes?

I've found that the machine will not permanently remember the settings for screensaver, wifi, etc. While the hardware is nice, Samsung still has a little to learn when it comes to writing drivers to control this unique hardware.
I just purchased a series 7 gaming laptop for a project and I need to install windows 7 instead of 8 will I be able to get all the drivers need to have full functionality?

Yes. I have Windows 7 and have all drivers running successfully with it just fine. I would recommend installing an updated driver from nVidia as the one provided by Samsung is quite out-dated. Good luck!

Question
Screen brightness adjustment problems
I'm having problems adjusting my screen's brightness. I have it at 100% brightness right now, and if I try to lower the brightness gradually, instead of gradually dimming, the screen will completely and suddenly turn off. I can get it back on if I put the brightness back to "100%", but because of this I cannot dim the screen.
Adjusting the screen brightness manually through Windows 7's display settings gives me the same results as well.
Any help would be appreciative.
Thank you.

We recommend you review the following support article:
This problem* only happens when you have your refresh rate set at 120hz. To adjust/dim your refresh rate, you should set it at the regular 60hz refresh rate. The system sets the brightness level to max when you're using 120hz, it won't let you dim your display. Hope this helps.
I don't know why this is so... this is probably a glitch that Samsung needs to fix.

One of the key features that I liked on the NP700G7C-S01US when I bought it was ExpressCache using the built in SanDisk iSSD P4 8GB drive. Since I did a clean install of Windows 8 Pro there is no way of installing this via SW Update or managing it via Settings?
Why is this? Will this become possible any time soon?

We recommend you review the following support article:
today i got a np700g7c and there seems to be a problem with its speakers. The subwoofer on the bottom works fine, but the other two speakers on the top don't work at all. So currently the subwoofer plays everything, which is actually not that enjoyable to listen to. I reinstalled all sound drivers without changes to the problem.
There are no problems while connected to other devices (headphones, HDMI-something).
My question: Is there a way for me to resolve this issue, or is this more likely a hardware-problem?

Gaming will tax a system's resources more than regular use such as word processing or Internet browsing, so a degradation while gaming on battery power alone will result in decreased performance. You can go into your Power Settings (search for "Power" in Control Panel) and change settings there, but there is nothing specific we can recommend if you choose to do this. Just know that changing any battery settings from energy saving modes or continuing to play games on battery power regularly will shorten the battery life.
If you have any additional questions, we suggest your refer to your product manual or the product support page on our website, where you'll find a comprehensive troubleshooting guide, product support videos, FAQs and How-Tos, as well as manual, driver, software & firmware downloads.
What is max processor TDP that this Gamer laptop is able to handle?
I just purchased a Series 7 Gamer and was going to upgrade CPU to i7-3920XM which has a higher TDP rating than the i7-3610QM(55W vs 45W). Can the "turbo cooling system" handle the upgrade?

caps lock will not turn on, nor will shift keys produce capital letters
I just purchased this machine. I completed the setup, but I have noticed a major issue. There is no way to produce capital letters on the machine; neither caps lock nor the shift key will produce a capital letter, still producing only lower case. Is this a known issue with the Series 7, Windows 8, or am I going to have to return the machine?
P.S. Posting from a different machine, before anyone asks.
