What memory will work?

Will any matching two 4GB (8GB total) of 1600MHz DDR3 SO-DIMM modules work to upgrade the NP365E5C to 8GB? Or, does this notebook need specific memory? Does it need a specific CAS?

Yes, any matching memory of that variety should work. Samsung computers do not require Samsung memory.

I talked to a notebook repair technician who updates BIOS on notebooks often. He said this is common for Windows 8 on many different brands and models of notebooks. It doesn't happen every time. As with my notebook. I updated my BIOS through the Samsung SW update program. I didn't have to validate Windows 8 the first time after a BIOS update, but did after the second time. Windows 8 failed to validate over the Internet. I had to call the phone number Microsoft gave and validate over the phone. You get a digital voice over a computer and one question is confusing. It asks how many computers you installed Windows 8 on, but on a computer coming Windows 8 OEM, we didn't install it at all. If you answer anything except "one," the phone computer doesn't understand and assumes you are installing without a valid license. Then, you will have to start the very long process all over again.

Question

0 (zero) key does not work on numeric keypad

When I use the numeric keypad that is part of this computer not an accessory I am unable to use the 0 (zero) key when typing numbers. I get a screen at the upper left side of the screen when I press it that brings up paste, select all and sometimes cup and copy message too depending on what I am doing but I cannot get numbers. Please help.

The 0 (zero) key does that when using a web browser on mine that I just bought 2 days ago. It works fine everywhere else provided the num lock is used. If you look at that key, you will see that it also serves other functions: insert & the right click menu. There should be more documentation on it. I am still looking.

CD-Rom spinning every 10 min when cd rom is empty with clicking noise

I'm having issues with the CD-Rom spinning every 10 min when it's completely empty. It spins constantly as if I just put in a CD. I made sure no programs were asking for a CD. Nothing seems to be making it stop.

CD-Rom spinning every 10 min when cd rom is empty with clicking noise

I have a problem with the dvd /cd-Rom with clicking noise and spinning when it's completely empty. It spins about 1 or 2 seconds randomly like when I put in a CD. Is it software issue or hardware? I appreciate your help.

When typing such things as passwords, you cannot see the typing results. How can I tell if the cap lock is on? Is there something to install on my Samsung Notebook that would tell me when the cap lock is on?

More often than not, you won't be able to view passwords as you type them. This is a security feature and is dependent on the software or application in question. Additionally, our newer model laptops do not have a light on the keyboard area or an on-screen display feature that indicates when Caps Lock is enabled/disabled.

why is my computer so slow?

How to I clone my HDD to an SSD?

How do I clone the HDD on my NP365E5C-S01US to a Samsung series 840 model MZ-7PD256 SSD? Windows 8 64-bit and the BIOS seem to prevent cloning software from working, including Samsung Data Migration - V.1.2 (specified for Windows 8 64-bit) with Error message Cloning failed 301001 [0x0497c9] and Apricorn EZ-GIG IV, which seems to start, but fails to respond.

Speakers squeal and loose hinge

The hinge on the left side of my NP365E5C-S01US is loose, Also when I am on the Internet, the speakers will emit a high pitched squeal on certain pages and have ever since I have had this computer (less than a year). Anyone else have this problem?

Question

manufacturer date and model#

The sticker on my notebook says model NP365EC-S02UB it was not found on your website, but S02US was. I chose it and entered the exact s/n from same sticker and your website says mfg date in April 1994. The mfg date on my notebook says April 2013.
I do not understand this discrepency.

Computer not using full 4GB RAM?

My laptop is only allowing me to use 1.4GB out of 4GB of RAM. And it is showing over 2GB of RAM as hardware reserved memory. How to I allow the laptop to use the full 4GB of ram? I went to msconfig and made sure max memory and max cpus were unchecked.

Trying to clone to SSD series 840 actual model MZ-7PD256
Software Samsung Data Migration - V.1.2 (specified for Windows 8 64-bit)
computer: Samsung NP365E5C-S01US
Windows 8 64-Bit
Get error message Cloning failed 301001 [0x0497c9] when trying to clone HDD on computer to SSD (series 840). Other cloning software also doesn't work.
Also can't get Samsung NP365E5C-S01US to boot off CDROM or USB drive.
