Agreed; poor wireless adapter performance of this device only connects to router under ideal "fresh" connection and then drops. Ping TTL response is erratic at best; SNR is great on the router-side for the connection initially and then drops. IMO this is a wireless firmware issue with this printer which needs to be resolved.
Samsung... We need HELP please; If you are going to release an entry-level product like this an expect it to be successful, please make sure the wireless feature-set works correctly.
connect printer via USB to computer then load software CD that came in with the unit.. then follow the wireless setup... before installation is over, setup will ask you to remove USB connection... then just follow still until it ask you to print test page ... if you dont have CD software just download print driver on this website...

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
Unfortunately, we would not be able to tell you what the sticker on your printer says. Nevertheless, we pasted the provided serial number into our database and it turned up no history, so we encourage to try your registration once more. Should you wish to contact us again, please be sure to provide any error messages you receive, as this will allow us to better assist you.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. It can indicate a number of things:
- The cover is opened. Close the cover completely. - There is no paper in the tray. Load paper in the tray. - The machine has stopped due to a major error. - Your system has some problems. If this problem occurs, contact a service representative. - A toner cartridge has almost reached its estimated cartridge life
The printer comes with a cartridge that is good for 700 pages of standard print. But the normal replacement cartridge is good for 1500 pages.

Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds. A printout will appear with that information. It's probably also on the bottom/side of the printer (look for a sticker with the printers serial number) or on the original box.

Printer is networked wirelessly, after some idle time, it will print a page that says "Device Status?" and if left unattended will empty the
the paper tray by printing the same thing over and over as long as there is paper in it. put more paper in, same thing happens. Very annoying.

Partial input:
I've have observed this problem as well; and my belief is it is related to the poor embedded wireless adapter performance. It disconnects from the wireless network continuously. I have attempted many different wireless router "channel" changes in an attempt to find one that will accommodate the printer to remain connected. I continuously have to power cycle my printer to reconnect it to my Linksys/DD-WRT based firmware wireless router.
I have the .06 firmware - Is there anything newer?

Try add the same printer using IPP protocol: 1. System Preference -> Print & Fax -> Click on "+" sign right below the list of printers 2. A pop-up "Add Printer" window will open, Select "IP" on the top left 3. Select "Internet Printing Protocol - IPP" 4. Fill in the IP address in "Address:" field (Refer to owner manual to find out IP address of your printer" 5. Give it a Name in Name: 6. Click Add. Now try to print it to the printer you just setup. It should be much faster than using Bonjour protocol.

Question
Not printing WIFI, but working USB... RED BLINKING
the wifi samsung printer 1865w is NOT printing via wifi. There is a RED blinking light that does not seem to change. Occasional after reboot the LED light changes to green, but turns RED shortly afterwards. NO PRINTING WIFI. Now, the printer seems to work with the USB, but only after the buttons on the printer are pressed over and over. Meaning, we hit print on computer while plugged into the USB, then push buttons on printer until it prints away. One FAQ stated the red blinking light is low TONER cartridge, but I find that hard to believe, since the printer is fairly new and rarely used. Please help... Just a note- Both wife and I are having the same problems. The wife's PC is running Windows Vista, while my PC is a bit older and running Windows XP.
Most new printers come with what's known as a starter cartridge, which means it will only last a limited time, so we recommend the instruction suggested in the FAQ article below and try replacing the toner cartridge.
If the issue persists, we recommend you email us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com. Please provide a brief description of your product issue, as well as the product model, serial number and your contact info.
The smart panel is now telling me "a print job is saved" or something similar
I know that I must have clicked on something to save the print jobs but when it's printing it keeps telling me that "a print job is saved".
I don't want it to save print jobs, any idea how to turn this feature off?
Thanks!

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
We have conferred with our resident printer specialist and he indicates that he is unaware of a setting in the Smart Panel that allows you to save a print job. He recommends you reinstall the printer to see if the issue persists.
