Thanks for posting a question on Samsung.com. Currently, I do not have any information on future compatibility of 3D technology with the "B" model TVs. All current "B" series Samsung TVs can not handle 3D viewing (However, the B450 plasma offers limited 3D compatibility). Please keep checking back on Samsung.com for any updated information on this and other products.

Question

120 Hz vs. 60 hz

I have an ln55b650 and I know it is a 120 hz TV. However, when I turn my tv on, it always shows only 60 hz why is that? and is it running 60 hz or 120 hz? Also, I occasionally get little different color lines that come and go on the screen, what are they and do they have something to do with the 60 hz vs. the 120 hz?

The B650 is indeed a 120Hz set. The processor on the Samsung 120Hz/240Hz units will always display at their respective Hz. Even when the signal is only being transmitted at 60Hz, it will always display at 120Hz/240Hz since the processor is always upconverting the signal. Activating the Auto Motion Plus feature will allow for judder reduction and blurring reduction, depending on what settings you activate. This will enhance your 120Hz/240Hz viewing. The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the info box is because the info box only displays the signal’s actual Hz and screen resolution and not the info of the picture on the screen after the TV processes it. Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen’s Hz. Currently there is no way to display the screen’s Hz in the info box. For the second part of your question, that may be better addressed by service. Please contact 800-SAMSUNG for additional assistance.

Please follow these instructions as to how to remove your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

First, confirm your TV is in Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode:

1. Press the INFO button on your remote control. A list of settings appears.
2. See if the Picture Mode setting is set to Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode or the message "Store Demo" is displayed in the center of the screen.

There are three methods for removing your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode. If the first method does not work, try the second or third method.
Method 1

To remove your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode, follow these steps:

1. Press the Volume + button on the side panel of your TV. If your TV does not have a side panel, press the Volume button on the front panel. The TV displays the volume bar.
2. With the volume bar displayed on the screen immediately press and hold the MENU button on the side panel of your TV for about seven seconds. Again, if your TV does not have a side panel, press the MENU button on the front panel. If Dynamic or Dynamic Mode is displayed on the screen, your TV has been removed from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

Note: You may want to press the INFO button on your remote again to confirm you TV is no longer in Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

Method 2

1. Press the Volume button on your remote.

Method 3

1. Change your TV to the "TV" source. The TV source is the coax (RF) source. It does not matter if you do not have anything connected to this source.
2. Press the MENU button.
3. Use the ▲ or ▼ button to select the "Setup" portion of the menu, and then press the ENTER button.

Note: On many TVs the menu sections name is displayed on the left side of the menu and sideways.

4. The "Plug & Play" option should be highlighted if it is not use the ▲ or ▼ arrow to select "Plug & Play" option, and then press ENTER.

Note: If the "Plug & Play" option is grayed out and can't be selected this means.

5. Follow the on screen instructions. When the options comes up select "Home" instead of "Shop".
6. Finish going through the plug and play option and your TV will no longer be in Shop Mode or Store Demo.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to call 800-SAMSUNG.

Unfortunately, the LN55B650 does not have the ability to stream Netflix directly to the TV. To view streamed Netflix, you will need to acquire a Samsung Blu-Ray Player that offers Netflix connectivity, then connect the BD player to the TV.

Question

How can I see my NAS box?

I have a D-Link DNS-321. I have my Samsung Tv and (Samsung) Blu-Ray player hooked up to my router through a D-Link DAP 1522. I have Internet connectivity and I can see the files on my PC just fine (I'm running WIndows 7). The problem is, I cannot see the D-Link NAS box (DNS-321). I have another brand of LCD TV in my bedroom and I can see the NAS box just fine. How do I remedy this situation?

Although with the "C" 2010 Samsung TVs, DLNA enabled NAS drives can be accessed; the 2009 "B" series TVs can only access files from a PC running the Samsung PC Share Manager or a PC running Windows Media Server.

A printed version is also available at www.samsungparts.com but it will not be free. Most people download the manual for free and keep it on the computer for reference.

The ToC feature on your TV is not a feature that can be turned on or off. Touch of Color only refers to the actual color of the bezel and the different manufacturing process used to produce the bezel.

Although this model does not have direct access to Samsung Apps, it can access internet content through a 2010 Samsung BD player (the blu-ray player will handle the Internet content processing). Unfortunately, there is currently no information on 2010 features being added to 2009 and earlier models at this time.
