Question

streaming AVI and MKV files problem

When I stream AVI and MKV files from my home computer, the video does not fill the full screen and is instead in a tiny window. However if I put the files on a USB and play them that way, the TV displays them fine. Is this a known problem that could be fixed in a future firmware update?

For the best range of motion, you'd probably want to wall-mount it with one that allows tilt and swivel. A tilt mount just adjusts up and down, a swivel one - particularly one with an armature should allow viewing from most anywhere.

The B650 is this years newest model, and it replaced the A650. Some of the new and upgraded features that the B650 has over the A650 are: Higher contrast ratio, redesigned bezel, Internet@TV on the 40"+, USB2.0 Movie, and the content libraries on the 40"+ models.

Question

How can I change the thumbnails of video files in the USB player?

I very much like how the medi@2.0 USB player functions, and the interface is wonderful. However, I would like to change the thumbnails for a lot of my video files. Is there a way to select which frame is used for the thumbnail? If not, this would be a welcome addition in a firmware update :)

Question

Do surround speakers that are placed right next to the television harmful to the tv?

I'm concern that the magnets of my magnetically shielded speakers will damage the tv. This was what I was told as far as CRT televsions. But I don't know much about LCD televsions. Most places on the internet seem to think that there will be no harm.
Thanks.

Truthfully, I wouldn't put speakers right up against the any TV, just in case. But the technology within the LCDs is much different to that of the old CRTs, so there should not be any interference or damage done to the set if you have the speakers somewhere close to it.

Question

What exactly does the DLNA Certified mean?

I an looking to purchase a new HDTV and have an interest in the 750 models. I can see that there's ethernet connectivity but I have a 802.11 LAN that I'd like to connect a TV to as a device. Is there a Samsung model that provides wireless connectivity (Bluetooth would also be OK)?

Basically DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is a standard used by many different manufacturers to allow entertainment devices within the home network to share their content with each other without a complicated configuration process. So you should be able to view content from a DLNA certified computer on your TV, for example.

Although there is no wireless connectivity within any of the Samsung TVs, we do offer a Wireless Linkstick (WIS09ABGN) for wireless capabilities to any wireless router.

Question

Weak Signal with HDMI

My TV frequently says weak signal when I try to use the HDMI with my HD cable box and Blue Ray player. When the picture does come up, it flickers. The problem seems worse when non HD content is being sent over the HDMI cable. There is no problem if I use Component cables with my cable box, but my Blue Ray player is HDMI only. Any advice or suggestions on how to fix this?

There could be many different issues in play here, however the most common and easily resolved issue is with the cable it self. All of Samsung's HDMI ports are HDMI rev. 1.3. Although HDMI is backwards compatible, if you are trying to connect two devices that use HDMI 1.3 with a cable that does not support 1.3, you may run into issues like the ones you have mentioned already. I would say make sure your cable is rev 1.3 and if not, replace it with one that is 1.3 and see if that alleviates the issue.

Although I do not have any info on any up and coming promotions, I can say that new promotions are started every few weeks on different Samsung products. I wouldn't suggest you wait for another deal to come along since there is no guarantee that a similar deal will ever be offered again.

Question

clearity of picture

Just installed my new Samsung 46"1080p LCD HDTV 750. Quaility of picture on not HD channels is very bad. I had at home a new HDMI Comcast box + HDMI cable. They worked on the set for hours, adjusting, etc., and still channels not brodcasting in HD format are blurry and just horrible. They say, that is nothing they can do,. I am very unhappy with the whole situation, and don't know what to do! They suggested I switch to Verizon or Direct Tv. Is it possible that the cable provider like Comcast cannot provide clear picture on not HD programming? We watch a lot of C-Span and similar programs and not only movies and sports on HD channels. Please advise. I consider returning the television, because on my old analog tv, at least all channels were very clear with Comcast boxes.

There could be many factors that may contribute to blurry non-HD channels. One of them could be the cable provider not sending the SD channels in the best quality they can, another factor could be that the signal for the lower channels is low, or it can even be that the TV it self is handling the non-HD channels poorly. Unfortunately, I can not make an accurate diagnosis since I can not see the TV physically. Please contact 800-SAMSUNG if you feel that there may be an issue with the TV. They should be able to help you out better then I would on line.

I'm sorry for your issue, although i do not have a list of error codes, I will say that you can Download the firmware from Samsung.com and load it onto a USB drive and update it that way, once a firmware update becomes available. For more info on how to do so, once an update becomes available, follow the link below.
