DLNA is a feature that allows you to stream content that is already on your networked computer, and not actual content from a website. The PC Share manager that comes with the units only detects files on your computer, then it transmits these files over your home network. Again, if your content is physically on your PC, DLNA will be able to transmit it to the TV. Because DLNA is a 3rd party system, if you would like more info on it, please visit DLNA.org.

You are correct in assuming that most TVs allow for a PC to be connected to the unit. However, with the Samsung TVs, you connect the PC via a standard D-sub(VGA) monitor connection, and not s-video (s-video is not offered on any Samsung TV).

The ToC feature on the Samsung TV is not a feature that can be turned on or off. Touch of Color only refers to the actual color of the bezel and the manufacturing process used to produce the bezel it self.

Question

When not in use can you store an LCD TV on the wall in a vertical position ( on its side ) or will that damage the screen for viewing?

I want to store a flat screen TV on it side on the wall when not using it and swing it out and turn it to its proper position when I'm viewing it. Can you do that with an LCD or Plasma TV or will that damage the screen or any of its components?

I would not suggest that this be done. All of the LCD and Plasma panels are designed to be set up right side up with the bottom of the TV always facing down. Turning the TV on its side or laying it flat my cause the panel to break and become irreparable.

On the B750, the color of the bezel is Charcoal Gray.

On the LN46B750, there really is only one way to connect headphones. In order to do so, you would need to connect the headphones via an RCA to 3.5mm female connector to the red/white audio outputs on the TV. Even then, since the RCA audio outputs on this unit is a fixed pass through type of connection, you would need some sort of intermediary device to control the volume, since the TV doe not have control of the volume coming out of the analogue and digital audio outputs.

Question

How is the LN46A950 different from the LN46B750

I am uncertain as to the advantages of the LN B 750 compared to the LNA950. It seems that both are LED and both are backlit? Is that correct? Are there are differences in picture quality and connectivity that you can point to? Thank you

Actually, the LNB750 is a conventionally back-lit unit. Meaning that it is back-lit by CCFLs. On the other hand, the A950, apart from being a 2008 model and no longer being in production, is a true LED back-lit unit. Because of this, the contrast of the A950 will be much higher then that of the B750. As far as connectivity, they both can access internet content, though the B750 offers Internet@TV which is a much more robust interneting experience. As far as connections, they both have about the same amount of HDMI and other AV connections. I hope this information has be found useful.

The screen does have a glossy surface on the screen. Only the 640/630 models and below have the matte finish you're looking for. If you still want 240Hz and internet capabilities you may look at the Sony XBR. I still think the picture is way better on the Samsung so I would try it out and see how much the glare bothers you. Go check it out in a local store and see what I'm talking about.

Question

streaming AVI and MKV files problem

When I stream AVI and MKV files from my home computer, the video does not fill the full screen and is instead in a tiny window. However if I put the files on a USB and play them that way, the TV displays them fine. Is this a known problem that could be fixed in a future firmware update?

Thanks for the question! As a matter of fact, the PiP can do a 50/50 split on the screen between the coax connection and a secondary connection. Included is a screen grab from the manual for your information.

A late answer, but yes. The post-processing (240hz) effects are causing this. The set has two effects; anti-blurring and de-juddering. Simply put, the first gets rid of blurred trails and the second gets rid of jumpiness.

People are used to seeing 24-frame-per-second video or less so the uneven smoothness looks unrealistic and like home video. Go to Picture Options, adjust the AutoMotion Plus 240hz setting to off, or custom. I find keeping the anti-blur near max and de-juddering no more than 3 or 4 smooths some video out without looking too fake.

For the best range of motion, you'd probably want to wall-mount it with one that allows tilt and swivel. A tilt mount just adjusts up and down, a swivel one - particularly one with an armature should allow viewing from most anywhere.

No. Aside from the product being discontinued meaning there will be no further updates, it's a common problem with flat screen sets.

With a handful of exceptions, most modern sets can't process the HDMI audio input for optical out with a balance between compression and quality acceptable for 5.1 output.

If you play around with connections and your setup you may actually find that optical out will output 5.1 in some cases, for some movies and not others. It depends upon the compression type used, but optical doesn't have the bandwidth for uncompressed high quality surround. Particularly since it's more common that movies have a 7.1 track that can be used in 5.1 if you want the ease of use you're looking for you'll need a dedicated receiver.

The "Hyper real" effect you are seeing is due to the higher frequency "Hz" of the panel. the B750 is a 240Hz panel, meaning that it can display a standard TV signal at 240 FPS. However, the extra frame interpolation is only active when your Auto motion Plus feature is active. In order to adjust the Auto Motion Plus feature, you will want to head into the TV's menu, then to the Picture sub-menu. Once there, scroll down until you see the "Picture Options" option and press enter. Scroll down some more in this next menu to find the Auto motion Plus feature. Turning it off completely will eliminate the "hyper real" look to your programing.

Hello,
I have a question about the wireless LAN adapter (WIS09ABGN)...
Do I have to have a Samsung Blue Ray player to connect to internet with this adapter? or Can I just use this LAN adapter to connect to internet directly wirelessly directly on my LN46B750 TV? I want to make sure before I order this wireless stick adapter.

Since the LN46B750 offers internet content connectability, you will be able to just directly connect the Linkstick to the TV. However, if you would like to access content like Netflix or Pandora you will need to use the Samsung BD player (connected to the internet) since the B750 does not have access to this content.
In this scenario, you will need a linkstick for both the TV and the BD player since they cannot share an internet connection between them.

Question

Reduce input lag

Are there any other ways to reduce to input lag ON TOP of game mode? I get a very annoying delay when playing first person shooters and it's driving me crazy. I have already done a fair amount of research on this and have come up short - unable to get below 50 ms.

Is there anything new you can tell me?

Is there any chance of all of the input lag being gone with a firmware update. I understand that by decreasing input lag time you sacrifice picture quality, which I have no problem with. Thank you.
