Question

Can closed caption be locted on the bottom of the screen?

750 series LCD Closed Caption: At the store they did not know how to get the closed caption to appear across the bottom of the screen. The system seemed to block out a 5" by 20" space in the upper left of the screen where the closed caption was located. This blocked some of the images.

Although I do not have in-depth experience with the CC features, I do have access to the manual's instructions as to how to control them. Below is an excerpt from the manual explaining the CC feature.

Thanks for the question! As a matter of fact, the PiP can do a 50/50 split on the screen between the coax connection and a secondary connection. Included is a screen grab from the manual for your information.

Thanks for the question. Currently, 3rd party USB adapters or input devices (Keyboards, mice, Bluetooth receivers) will not be compatible with the Samsung TVs. In order to connect a signal transmitter, it would have to connect it to the audio outputs on the TV it self (RCA and/or Optical).

For the best range of motion, you'd probably want to wall-mount it with one that allows tilt and swivel. A tilt mount just adjusts up and down, a swivel one - particularly one with an armature should allow viewing from most anywhere.

Although there are a number of cleaning products on the market that say they are “Safe” for LCD/Plasma panel usage, I recommend just using plain old purified water without any minerals and a non-abrasive cloth. Purified water with out minerals will also prevent any mineral deposits to collect on the screen.

All you would need to do is press the "source" button on your remote, then select the active source you have your signal coming into. If its an HDMI source, pick the appropriate HDMI input. If its coax cable, then select TV from the source list.

From the info I have, it seems that the Samsung App Engine will only be available on the 2010 “C” Samsung TVs with Itnernet@TV. This means that the 2009-10 “B” units will not be receiving an update to run Samsung Apps and will not have Netflix connectivity.

Question

Netflix on LN46B750

I recently purchased an LN46B750. I made this decision based on a review from cnet.com which commented on the lacking content of the yahoo widgets at the time of the review, but that there would be more widgets on the way very soon, including Netflix. I purchased this TV expecting to be able to eventually stream Netflix directly do it. I would like to know when Samsung intends on releasing a firmware update that will provide Samsung App Engine support for my TV model (which is brand new to me since I just bought it from an authorized retailer a couple months ago).

Unfortunately, the 2009 and earlier model series Samsung TVs and Samsung Blu-Ray Players (not the year they were produced, just the year of the model implementation. this includes the LN46B750) will not be eligible for upgrades to the 2010 Samsung Apps Engine or 3D. For the TVs, the panel material isn’t able to display 3D content and the internal hardware (processors, HDMI ports, etc.) on both the TVs and the BD players are not compatible with 3D, the 2010 Samsung Apps Engine or any other 2010 feature.

Namely, at times, there is a blurryness around the characters and this happens only when the 240 Hz is active. Isnt this suppose to make the picture better? Since Blu-Rays actually transmit at a different Hz then regular TV (be it a cable box or direct coax feed), I would recommend either adjusting Auto Motion Plus to a lower setting or turning it off to see if this alleviates your issue. Blu-Rays operate at 24Hz, while regular signals operate at 60Hz. The TVs are designed to take a 60Hz signal and upconvert it to 120/240Hz respectively. That said, not using Auto motion Plus with your BD viewing would allow you to view the movie the way it was intended. AMP is mainly used to enhance the viewing of 60Hz material, and is especially good for clearing up blurry or juddery action, which you may find with sporting events.

Question

Wireless connectivity

Hello,
I have a question about the wireless LAN adapter (WIS09ABGN)...
Do I have to have a Samsung Blue Ray player to connect to internet with this adapter? or Can I just use this LAN adapter to connect to internet directly wirelessly directly on my LN46B750 TV? I want to make sure before I order this wireless stick adapter.
Thank you for the help,

Since the LN46B750 offers internet content connectability, you will be able to just directly connect the Linkstick to the TV. However, if you would like to access content like Netflix or Pandora you will need to use the Samsung BD player (connected to the internet) since the B750 does not have access to this content.
In this scenario, you will need a linkstick for both the TV and the BD player since they cannot share an internet connection between them.

The flutter you see could be caused by the Auto Motion Plus feature. AMP activates the frame interpolation feature which inserts an additional frame after each original frame to give you the true 240Hz experience. However, in some cases, AMP does not need to be active when displaying certain content. If you feel that your content does not need the additional signal enhancements of AMP, I would suggest turning it off. To deactivate AMP, head into your TV's menu, then to the Picture Sub-Menu. Once there, scroll down and enter the Picture Options. Scroll down once again until you see the Auto Motion Plus Adjustment. If you continue to have an issue, please contact service at 800-SAMSUNG.

Divx content can be streamed to the B750 by installing the Samsung PC Share Manager on your PC. Once installed, you will want to select the videos you would like to add to the Manager, which will in turn stream that content to your TV. Please visit the Software section of the B750's support page for more information.

Question

How do I remove outline blur?

I have a Samsung LN46B750, on certain shows/movies I get an obvious burred outline around people as they casually move across the screen. I've tried all the setting adjustments and none really work to remove this effect. Has anyone experienced this problem, any solutions to remove the effect, or do you think I have a faulty set. I am using Monster M2000 HDMI cable.

To alleviate blur from your picture, I would suggest adjusting your Auto Motion Plus setting. To adjust this feature, you will want to enter the TV's menu, then navigate to the Picture sub-menu. Once there, scroll down and click on "Picture Options". Auto Motion Plus will then be located within this new menu, where you can adjust it from its highest setting to off.
