This TV is a fully capable 120Hz set and offers the Auto Motion Plus feature that enhances said 120Hz image. This set will always upscale your 60Hz signal to 120Hz, regardless of any settings you may have active. However, in order to receive the full 120Hz benefit (judder and blur reduction, and frame interpolation), you will need to have Auto Motion Plus active. The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the info box is because the info box only displays the signal’s actual Hz and screen resolution and not the info of the picture on the screen after the TV processes it. Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen’s Hz. Currently there is no way to display the screen’s Hz in the info box. Coincidentally, the Samsung TVs can only accept a 60Hz signal.

because all devices being connected to the tv like a cable box, gaming console or bd player are all only 60hz. yes tv is 120hz just turn on the auto-motion plus on the tv by going to menu and then picture and then picture options and then auto-motion plus set to smooth or clear to get 120hz but will never display on info screen

Currently, the only wireless adapter that can be used with the appropriate Samsung TVs is the Samsung Linkstick WIS09ABGN. The reason for this is that all other USB wireless adapters require drivers to work. Since there is no feasible way to transfer and save hundreds of different drivers for each adapter on the TVs, Samsung created a USB wireless adapter that will work 100% of the time (plug-n-play), with out drivers.

That seems to be the effect that HD has on me too, no matter what set I watch it on
I get the same impression, that I am watching a poorly directed Soap Opera, hard
to put it in words, just a feeling. Only thing I can think of how to explain what is
actually happening is that HD is less forgiving of a sloppy camera guy or
director??

Unfortunately, Samsung can not suggest any specific calibration numbers since every calibration has to be done based on the preferences of the customer performing the low level calibration.
Perhaps other users on this forum may be able to better help you out. You can also ask your local retailer about Calibration options.

Question

What is the port # assigned by Samsung for internet purposes?

There is a conflict between my LN40C670, my Linksys WRT160N router and my cable modem. Every other device, EXCEPT for my TV, has no problem whatsoever with DHCP routing. IP, DNS, Subnet and gateway all are fine on my network. I've done everything I have gone through all the troubleshooting I can, including all steps recommended by level 1, and level 2 support. The most frustrating aspect is that it is a WIRED connection too. No security issues, firewall disabled, etc. Still won't work. THe only thing I can think of that may help is to forward port range on my router for the ports associated with the TV. Level one support told me that Samsung does not have a prescribed port number for such issues. I have a hard time believing that this is true. Please tell me that there is a port number that will work for port forwarding. If proprietary, please at least give me a range.
