Question

The volume in my new TV goes up and down constantly.

I have tried switching input from 1 to 2, but that did not work. I read on the web that Samsung had had trouble with the "soundboard" in the LCD 40s. How will we get this fixed?

Question

Why do I have spots on the screen?

Within the last week, we have noticed one small permanent red dot towards the bottom of the screen. Also, a larger black and white blob comes and goes (mostly comes) in the upper lefthand corner of the screen. We have only had the tv for about 45 days.

Your Samsung 630 TV does NOT have the Netflix App. Your Samsung blu-ray player IF it has the Internet@tv capabilities can access the Netflix app. Connect your blu-ray player to your 630 TV either through the component or HDMI cable. Power on both devices and change the source on your TV to your blu-ray player. (This is usually Component2 or HDMI2 if you are using satellite or cable tv)

Then connect the blu-ray player to the internet either through a wired (ie: cable) or wireless router connection. If using the wireless option, these settings have to be configured next. Then press select on the Internet@tv icon and choose Netflix. The only fee you will pay is to Netflix for the monthly service. Samsung does not charge you any fees for the Netflix app.

Although the C630 offers AllShare, which allows you to stream saved content from a DLNA enabled device (like a PC or Cell Phone), It does not offer Internet connectivity or the ability to stream internet content.

This particular TV is not internet ready and requires you to purchase the Samsung LinkStick USB adapter. However, this only allows you to connect to the internet to download any firmware updates for the TV itself. If you are interested in connecting to the internet to stream movies from your computer to your TV, you would need a blu-ray player that has Internet@tv capabilities and either a wired (ie:cable) or wireless router connection. Then configure the blu-ray player to connect to the internet through the settings menu. Using the Internet@tv you can stream movies through the apps on the blu-ray player from your computer to your tv.

This TV is a fully capable 120Hz set and offers the Auto Motion Plus feature that enhances said 120Hz image. This set will always upscale your 60Hz signal to 120Hz, regardless of any settings you may have active. However, in order to receive the full 120Hz benefit (judder and blur reduction, and frame interpolation), you will need to have Auto Motion Plus active. The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the info box is because the info box only displays the signal’s actual Hz and screen resolution and not the info of the picture on the screen after the TV processes it. Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen’s Hz. Currently there is no way to display the screen’s Hz in the info box. Coincidentally, the Samsung TVs can only accept a 60Hz signal and there are currently no consumer devices on the market that will transmit at over 60Hz (excluding some PCs).
