Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We recommend you review the following support article (Please note: On current Samsung TVs, when you use the On/Off Timer, you can only set the source to Cable or Antenna, and then a channel from one of those two sources or, on some models, to an attached USB device. You cannot set the source to any other input source (Component, HDMI, DVI, S-Video, or PC):

The LN40C530 is not compatible with any of the dongles, so connecting it to your home network is not possible.

Although this model does not offer Smart features, like Samsung Apps (Netflix, Pandora, YouTube, etc.), web browser or WiFi capabilities; it can display App content from a 2010-12 Samsung BD player or other internet capable device (the blu-ray player/internet capable device will handle the Internet content processing, while the TV displays the content. Similar to how a monitor will display the PC’s video signal).

Thank you for the opportunity to assist you,

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

This is most likely because the music in iTunes is encoded in AAC format, which is Apple's proprietary music format. Samsung TVs can decode AAC format in AllShare, but you're connected directly to the TV via USB (also known as Wiselink) and it may not support the same audio and video formats that AllShare does.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We recommend you review pages 33-34 of your product manual, as there is some additional information on wall mounts. We have looked for an available wall mount on the website for our parts supplier and a wall mount for this model is no longer available. We recommend you do some additional searching online as we can confirm there are third-party wall mounts for this TV available for purchase.

Question

Green screen on all imputs.

I have had my Samsung TV for about three years now. Just recently, after I put it on a wall mount(highly doubt this has anything to do with it, just a coincident) it began with the green screen. You are watching then all of a sudden it goes to an almost green pixelated, but not really pixelated screen. The audio is also scrambled up. You have to hit the power button to make it stop, no other button works. It does this on all inputs.

Is there anything I can do to fix this or is the TV basically scrap right now? Im thinking it may have something to do with the input board portion of the TV? If its a hardware component I have no problem doing something like that since I work with computers and set top boxes every day anyway.

You could take it off the wall. If that doesn't fix the problem remove the wall mounts and see if one of your screws was too long.

Question

What video codecs are supported on my tv ( model LN40C530F1F)?

When I download digital videos onto my external hard drive and try to initiate them on the tv's media play, most show up but others do not. What video formats/codecs are specifically supported on my tv model and can the firmware be changed or added to support a wider variety of formats/codecs?

Page 26 of the manual says which formats are supported. Not likely to be able to expand beyond what came with the tv. Memory space in TV's rom chip is really limited. They would have to eliminate some to add others.

Question

Can I configure my LN40C530 so that when I put a DVD in my player, it automatically will switch to that input (versus doing on the "Menu" selection?

This TV is my parents who are in their 80's... they get lost in the "menu" area and therefor are no longer watching dvd's... I'm just wondering if there is a way to make this automatic... we currently have their cable box plugged into "Composite Input 2" and their DVD player plugged into "AVI"... Any help would be great

Question

What is this scrolling line?

Recently I've noticed a series of lines slowly scrolling from the bottom to the top of the screen. I am using the component input from my cable set-top box. The cable company insists that the signal from the box is clean (despite a ground hum in my audio.) This line does NOT appear on AV1 or antenna input.
