You need to 'mount' the iso file before you present it to the media player. In linux this is mount -o loop command. Once mounted, the iso file shows as normal vob files which the tv can play.

In the pictures, the red accent along the bottom of the unit is accentuated in order to let the customer who is about to purchase the model know that the unit does come with a red tint to the bezel. However, this tint can not be turned on or off since it is just the color of that piece of the bezel.

There are three ways to connect your PC to your LN40C530: monitor cable, HDMI to HDMI or HDMI to DVI.

Although all of these connections are easy to hook up, the PC monitor cable is the most common. To connect it this way, just use a standard PC monitor cable to connect from the monitor out of your PC to the PC input on the TV. Some adjustments to the PC's resolution is required.

If your PC offer HDMI out, I would highly suggest using this connection, since it is a basic plug-n-play connection (meaning almost no adjustment is needed on the TV or PC).

HDMI to DVI is almost the same as straight HDMI, but in this case, you will want to connect the DVI end of the cable to the PC (if available) and the HDMI into the TV. This is also considered a plug-n-play connection.

Unless otherwise specified by your PC manufacturer, you will need to connect the PC's audio to the TV with a separate cable (3.5mm jack cable), since most PCs do not support audio over HDMI, VGA or DVI.

Question

Is there anyway to get my HD picture to fit the whole screen. Right now I have it set on 16x9, which looks great but I do not want the two black bars?

I tried the zoom 1 option, which makes the picture fit the screen, but that loses a lot of the HD picture quality.

If the source is not HD, the picture will be shown with bars at the sides so you will see the entire vertical dimension of the image. Otherwise, if the source is HD, the entire screen will be filled with the 16X9 HD image.

Depends on the rates your service tech charges to solder a new port in. Probably be cheaper to add a switch to send two devices to a remaining port.

Question

I get the "audio codec not supported" error when playing an mkv file, but there's audio at the beginning!

The audio is encoded in DTS . The problem is that when the movie starts playing the audio is actually working but after 3 or 4 sec the audio stops and the "audio codec not supported" error pops up. I don't get it, if the audio codec is not supported why is there audio at the beginning??????. The TV is actually decoding the audio but then i get the error and i get no sound afterwards.
How can i solve this?

Thanks in advance.

Although with the information you have provided I do not have a solution for you (please ensure that the file is properly encoded and that there is no corruption in the file it self or during the encoding process for the file); I will say that if you make a service request at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o..., or contact 800-SAMSUNG, the service department should be able to provide you with a live solution.

Question

audio connections unclear

I run audio into and out from my TV to home stereo and from PC. The owners manual and set-up instructions are clear and concise, very excellent!

I was, however, unable to locate any clear identification of the audio cable type needed to match the input jacks on the TV back. Through (VERY careful) trial and error I discovered that the TV will accept a 1/8" stereo "mini" jack. I appear to have two channel stereo input and output using this wiring configuration, so I believe I am correct in using the 1/8" stereo minijack (such as an earbud wire or small headphone wire).

Please consider upgrading the set-up instructions or owners manual to clearly specify the audio cable type.

Although you have the right idea, the TV's actually use a standard 3.5mm jack for audio output, similar to the plug on a pair of headphones. Thank you for your suggestion, I will pass this information to the appropriate departments.

The LN40C530 does actually have a 1-tuner PiP system. PiP 1-tuner systems only allow for one cable connection to be shown at a time on the screen. In order to connect it up, you will need a hard line going into the TV (cable coax) and an active secondary connection (HDMI, component, PC). To activate it up, either head into the TV's menu or click the Tools button on the remote control.

Again, you will need both a coax connection and a secondary input connection in order to properly activate and view PiP on your set. If your option is grayed out, this means that one of the required connections is not active and connected properly.

I believe both the audio in and audio out use 1/8" mini stereo jacks like a small headphone wire. These are available with RCA plugs on one end and the minijack on the other end or as male to male jack wires. I use a RCA to mini on the audio out to run to my stereo system, but use a male to male stereo mini wire to connect from my PC out (headphone out) to the TV audio in. I'm sorry I don't know the exact names of these wires and connectors.

Although the wattage and amperage numbers are not readily available (since daily usage varies from owner to owner depending on settings and content), I can say that most all current generation Samsung TVs are EnergyStar4.0 compliant. This ensures the best possible performance with minimal power usage. Also, most LED TVs will use up to 40% less power then traditional LCD TVs.
