hit the source button on your remote, then go to mode, scroll down to picture options, on the bottom you will see a 120hz auto motion set up, set it to your desired setting, as far as watching an hd movie or a blu-ray, its because the movie is set up that way, its nothing to do with your set. so far movies are set up in 60hz not 120hz, the technology just isnt there yet.

The info button is indicating the signal that is recieving from the source like your cable or your dvd player. It do not indicate when the 120Hz is on when you use the info button. This infomation can be found under the support /FAQ for this model.

For most (if not all) 3D devices, you will need a display that accepts a 120Hz signal, and not one that takes a 60Hz signal and upconverts it to 120Hz. That being the case, currently none of the Samsung TVs will accept a 120Hz signal, instead they only upconvert a 60Hz to 120Hz.

As a matter of fact, Divx and MPEG formats are just a few of the supported formats. For a full list of formats (the list is to long to input here), please check page 51 of the downloadable user's manual.

Question

How do I determine a valid zipcode for Inforlink weather location?

I am connected to Infolink and I enter all the zipcodes for my city (Warren, MI) and I get an error saying no region corresponds to that. Even the Detroit metro airport zipcode does not work.

your own Q&A has erroneous information about selection your city from the list ("On the InfoLink™ menu, select the weather icon ( ) and press the [Select] button of the remote control. Then press the yellow button and select your desired location from the city list. You can choose between today's weather and the five-day forecast by pressing the red button of the remote control.") This options does not exist.

Technically there is no recorded native contrast ratio due to the fact that some of the contrast enhancing features are active at all times and can not be turned off. Some of the features include the ultra clear panel, and the active back light unit.

You can most definitely perform a low level calibration on the TV your self. However, I can not provide the actual values for the calibration since a low level calibration is done through the TV's menu. Each setting should be adjusted to the liking of the customer them selves.

Great question! If you head to your TV's menu, then to the setup sub-menu, you will see Game Mode there. If Game Mode is grayed out, this means you do not have your device connected to an input that supports game mode.

Thank you for the question. Although the TV will display a 1080p source with out a problem, the TV will not upconvert the signal to 1080p. This means that the TV will only display the signal's actual resolution. So the reason you are seeing 1280x720 is due to the fact that the source you have connected to the TV is only transmitting at 1280x720 and not at true 1080p. Please refer to your other device's manual to find out how to adjust the resolution being transmitted out.

Question

Refresh rate when Auto Motion Plus 120Hz is off.

I was wondering if the refresh rate on the LN40B640 is still 120Hz when AMP 120Hz is turned to off? Also, does this then support 24pfs sources in that it will display each frame 5 times and not utilize any 3:2 pulldown?

Thanks for your help!
