There are two ways you can connect your iPod to the TV: 1) via the USB port, 2) via a 3.5mm to RCA red/white connector cable. The first option will only work if your device is formatted in a FAT or NTFS file system (otherwise, it is not guaranteed that it will work properly). The second method is the simplest. By connecting the 3.5mm jack into the headphone input on the iPod you can then connect the cable to the audio input on your TV, thus allowing you to easily listen to your music.

Great question! Although you can upload movies to a USB device and connect it to the TV for playback, the B640 actually does not offer DLNA PC streaming.

As a matter of fact there is a way to manually add channels. If you head into the TV's menu, then go to the "Channel" sub-menu, you will see an option called "Channel List". Enter that option and you will see the "all" option at the top. Click into that and you will see the full view of every channel, displayed and not displayed, that your TV has found. From there you can manually add the channel by highlighting the channel you desire to add, click enter, and select "add" from the drop down menu.

The LN40B640 does actually have a 1-tuner PiP system. 1-tuner systems only allow for one cable connection to be shown at a time on the screen. In order to connect it up, you will need a hard line going into the TV (cable coax) and an active secondary connection (HDMI, component, PC). To activate it up, either head into the TV's menu or click the Tools button on the remote control.

Again, you will need both a coax connection and a secondary input connection in order to properly activate and view PiP on your set. If your option is grayed out, this means that one of the required connections is not active and connected properly.

For further information on PiP, please refer to page 20 in the units user manual.

Thanks for the question. Usually on BD movies or DVDs, you would not want to use the Auto Motion Plus (the setting that affects the blur and judder) feature, since these formats offer their own Hz that should not be changed (Blu-Ray in specific outputs at 24Hz, which is a feature of this format. AMP will process that signal up to 120Hz on your unit, which may result in some picture quality issues. AMP was designed to take a 60Hz signal and double it to 120Hz). With the cable signal, please make sure that the set top box is receiving and outputting a strong enough signal in order for AMP to process it. Again, as with BDs, a week cable signal can cause AMP to not work properly. I would suggest deactivating Auto Motion Plus to see if that alleviates the issue. If it does not please feel free to contact our service department at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o...

That’s a great question. The processor on the Samsung 120Hz/240Hz units will always display at their respective Hz. Even when the signal is only being transmitted at 60Hz, it will always display at 120Hz/240Hz since the processor is always upconverting the signal. Activating the Auto Motion Plus feature will allow for judder reduction and blurring reduction, depending on what settings you activate. This will enhance your 120Hz/240Hz viewing. The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the info box is because the info box only displays the signal’s actual Hz and screen resolution and not the info of the picture on the screen after the TV processes it. Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen’s Hz. Currently there is no way to display the screen’s Hz in the info box.

From the info you provided, I'm assuming that the issue is being caused by an incorrect aspect ratio on the TV or cable box. I would suggest matching the aspect ratio of the TV to that of the cable box, so if your cable box is set at 4:3, set the TV at 4:3 as well. I would suggest contacting your service provider for more details on how to view your cable box's aspect ratio. On the TV follow these instruction on how to change its aspect ratio: From the TV menu->Picture->Picture Options->Size.

Although I may not have the wattage numbers readily available to me (since daily usage varies from owner to owner depending on settings and content), I can say that most all current generation Samsung TVs are EnergyStar compliant. This ensures the best possible performance with minimal power usage.

If you are experiencing blur, i would suggest activating the Auto Motion Plus feature. AMP should reduce blur, but will need to be adjusted on each source, since the settings on one source will not transfer over to another (settings for HDMI1 will not be the same as HDMI2). To adjust this feature, you will want to enter the TV's menu, then navigate to the Picture sub-menu. Once there, scroll down and click on "Picture Options" and press enter. Auto Motion Plus will then be located within this new menu, where you can adjust it from its highest setting to off.

Question

how to set up network for negear wnce3001 adapter

I entered the IP and Gateway addresses that I show the ISP has. But when I check the network connect on b640 TV, it says no connection to Gateway.

The adatper is connected to TV by LAN, so the connection between the adapter and wireless router should be the same as the router being connected directly to TV by LAN.

Any ideas on source of problem? Shouldn't it be the same as connecting directly to TV with LAN from router?

Thank you.
