There really aren't any "recommended" settings from Samsung when it comes to what AMP setting you should be using. All I can tell you is try each setting out for your self with all the different content you will be viewing. See which settings look best to you since, basically, the settings of the AMP are purely subjective (meaning that what may look good in a high setting to one person, may not look good in the same setting to a different person).

Question

How do I connect sound from a computer?

I have connected my PC to the HDMI (DVI) port via a DVI to HDMI cable. I would also like to connect so that the TV will play the PC audio. I have connected a audio cable into the PC audio jack but that doesn't seem to work. How do I connect the PC to the TV so that audio and not just video plays?

Since you are connecting the PC to the TV via an HDMI cable, the PC audio input on the rear of the TV will not work. You will need to connect the audio output on your PC to your TV via a 3.5mm male to RCA red/white male. By plugging the 3.5mm jack to the PC, and then plugging in the RCA jacks to the DVI audio input on the rear of the TV (note: make sure that your HDMI connection from your PC is connected to the HDMI 1/DVI input on the TV), you should be able to hear the audio from your PC on the TV.

Question

How do I fine tune text from my PC?

According to the manual on Page 22 you can adjust the screen from fine to coarse. This page of the manual does not show in the menu on the TV. I have checked to update the software and it says I am up to date. I'm currently typing this on my Pc that is connected to the TV. It is connected at 1080p resolution and the text looks rough. Is there any way to adjust this via the menu?

Side note: on page 22 it says there is an "auto adjustment" feature on the Tools menu. No such feature exists on my Tv's Tools menu. How do I find it?

I'm sorry for the confusion. Most of the manuals are written for the entire series of units, and not just for one specific model. In some cases there may be some information or features that are not offered on your TV. That being said, if you have your PC connected to your TV through any other connection that is not the standard PC VGA connection, these option may not be available. Consequently, if these options are not available to you, there is no way that I know of to activate them on your set.

Question

Does the LN40B630 Support Dolby Digital 5.1 output through the digital audio out port?

I have my tv wired this way...An HDMI connects the cable box to the tv...An optical cable connects the tv to the audio system. For some reason the audio systems only receives a 2 channel (stereo) signal so there are 3 speakers and the subwoofer that are doing nothing.

Thanks for the question. I'm sorry, but the optical digital output on the Samsung TVs only support 2 channel audio out on the secondary connections (HDMI, component). On page 11 of the user's manual, it states that "When the Home Theater receiver is set to On, you can hear sound output from the TV’s Optical jack. When the TV is
displaying a DTV(air) signal, the TV will send out 5.1 channel sound to the Home theater receiver. When the source is a
digital component such as a DVD / Blu-ray player / Cable Box / Satellite receiver (Set-Top Box) and is connected to the
TV via HDMI, only 2 channel sound will be heard from the Home Theater receiver. If you want to hear 5.1 channel audio,
connect the digital audio out jack on DVD / Blu-ray player / Cable Box / Satellite receiver (Set-Top Box) directly to an
Amplifier or Home Theater, not the TV."

Thanks for the question! In order to enhance the sound to make voices clearer, or to just over all enhance the audio, head into the TV's menu, then to the Sound sub-menu. Once there, you can head to the "Mode" option where you will have the ability to adjust between settings such as Music, Movie and even Clear Voice. You should also have SRS TruSurround turned on, and if you so choose to, you can enter the equalizer to further adjust the sound.

If you have the cable connected into coax and have a secondary signal (PC, HDMI, Component) active, you should be able to use the PIP. However if you are continuing to have this issue, please refer to page 20 of the user manual if you have it, or you can download it from the product page under the support/download subtab.

The new TVs only have one RF inputs because with regular over the air antenna you are suppose to get a DTV box which have a splitter for both air antenna and cable TV.
Now since this TV already have DTV you will not need a box to convert, however, you will still need to purchase a tv sliptter to access all your needs, . The is also a vivid instructions in the manual as to how you go about this problem.

The Dynamic Contrast Ratio is the contrast ratio of the TV with all the contrast enhancing features active and working properly. Some of these features include the special Panel material and the unique Picture engine plus an active back light unit. Because these features can not be deactivated, the contrast will always be much higher then the static contrast ratio, which is why Samsung only publishes the dynamic contrast..

As a matter of fact, there is a screen saver. On page 55 of the user manual, you will find a detailed set up of how to adjust the unit's screen saver. I will say with LCD TVs, it is very hard and rare to cause burn-in, though.

As a matter of fact, you can compare the differences between two different year models. In order to do so, head into the LN40A630 product page, then press the "Compare" button at the mid top right of the page. That will save that model for later comparison. Then head to the LN40B630 product page and do the same. Once you are ready, in the new window that pops up (or first press the compare toggle at the bottom of the page), press the "Compare Now" button to see a side by side comparison of the products.

I assume you are referring to the ToC. The ToC feature on your TV is not a feature that can be turned on or off. Touch of Color only refers to the actual color of the bezel and the manufacturing process used to produce the bezel it self. There is no light that shines around the entire bezel of the TV.
