Infolink uses the internet connection to collect RSS feeds that are then displayed on the screen in widget form. Internet@TV uses customizable Yahoo widgets that allows for a more robust internet experience. Due to hardware limitations, unfortunately, one can not be upgraded or downgraded to another.

I'm sorry for the confusion. The reason you can only use a Samsung Wireless linkstick is because in order to use a 3rd party adapter, the TV would need drivers for EVERY adapter on the market. By supplying the market with an official Samsung Linkstick, we cut down on compatibility issues and we can guarantee that the linkstick will work properly with the unit the first time you install it.

Unfortunately, all current consumer model Samsung TVs do not offer a cablecard connection. Due to the ever changing format and standards by the cable companies in regards to cablecards, the technology has been put on hold and then replaced by more stable technologies.

Question

How do I connect sound from a computer?

I have connected my PC to the HDMI (DVI) port via a DVI to HDMI cable. I would also like to connect so that the TV will play the PC audio. I have connected a audio cable into the PC audio jack but that doesn't seem to work. How do I connect the PC to the TV so that audio and not just video plays?

Since you are connecting the PC to the TV via an HDMI cable, the PC audio input on the rear of the TV will not work. You will need to connect the audio output on your PC to your TV via a 3.5mm male to RCA red/white male. By plugging the 3.5mm jack to the PC, and then plugging in the RCA jacks to the DVI audio input on the rear of the TV (note: make sure that your HDMI connection from your PC is connected to the HDMI 1/DVI input on the TV), you should be able to hear the audio from your PC on the TV.

Question

How do I fine tune text from my PC?

According to the manual on Page 22 you can adjust the screen from fine to coarse. This page of the manual does not show in the menu on the TV. I have checked to update the software and it says I am up to date. I'm currently typing this on my Pc that is connected to the TV. It is connected at 1080p resolution and the text looks rough. Is there any way to adjust this via the menu?

Side note: on page 22 it says there is an "auto adjustment" feature on the Tools menu. No such feature exists on my Tv's Tools menu. How do I find it?

I'm sorry for the confusion. Most of the manuals are written for the entire series of units, and not just for one specific model. In some cases there may be some information or features that are not offered on your TV. That being said, if you have your PC connected to your TV through any other connection that is not the standard PC VGA connection, these option may not be available. Consequently, if these options are not available to you, there is no way that I know of to activate them on your set.

From the info i have, it doesn't look like the B630 is wireless ready. The WIS09ABGN Linkstick that is used for wireless connectivity does not list the B630 as one of the compatible TVs. The B630 does however have infolink, and can connect to the info servers through an ethernet connection.Infolink allows you to access internet content on your TV through widgets.

Question

8 bit/10 bit panel/1080/24p

Can you please clarify whether b630 has a 8 bit or 10 bit panel?
One more question is whether this series can handle 1080p/24hz without 3:2 pulldown? I am kind of assuming it will when 120 hz is on. But if 120 hz is off, then will it convert it to 1080/60p? Thanks...

Actually, the unit will support the 1080/24p signal, though I do not have any info on the 3:2 pull down.

The processor on the Samsung 120Hz/240Hz units will always display at their respective Hz. Even when the signal is only being transmitted at 60Hz, it will always display at 120Hz/240Hz since the processor is always upconverting the signal. Activating the Auto Motion Plus feature will allow for judder reduction and blurring reduction, depending on what settings you activate. This will enhance your 120Hz/240Hz viewing.

For your first question, unfortunately, the bit rating and color processing of our panels aren't listed in our specifications. However, the panel is optimized to work with the corresponding electronics to deliver a clear, competitive and impressive picture.

In theory it can, but I wouldn't recommend it. There is no way of telling the TV to only play audio as a center style speaker. You can mess with the equalizer in order to get pretty close to the desired outcome, but you will also have to deal with the syncing of the audio on the TV with your system.

Correct, the B630 does not offer a headphone jack this year. You can still hook up headphones to the set though. You will need an RCA(red and white) to 3.5mm converter cable, and of course your headphones. Connect the converter cable to the audio out on the back of the TV, then connect your headphones to the 3.5mm jack on the cable. Once connected, you can turn the speakers off in the Audio options in the TV's menu. This will allow you to listen to the TV on your headphones with out disturbing anyone around you.

All* sources are 60hz max. The 120hz refresh rate allows the TV to play with the picture to give you a smoother video (Auto-motion plus).

When there is a 120hz source available (future game consoles possibly) your TV will display them. Right now your cable box/satellite/video games will be 60fps max.

Unfortunately, both the digital and analogue audio outputs on the Samsung TVs only offer "Pass though" audio signals. "Pass" basically means that the audio is directly sent to the outputs, bypassing the audio processors on the TV, which will also bypass any control the TV may have over that audio signal. If you are using external speakers, you will need to control the volume through the speakers them selves and not through the TV.

Thanks for the question. I'm sorry, but the optical digital output on the Samsung TVs only support 2 channel audio out on the secondary connections (HDMI, component). On page 11 of the user's manual, it states that "When the Home Theater receiver is set to On, you can hear sound output from the TV’s Optical jack. When the TV is
displaying a DTV(air) signal, the TV will send out 5.1 channel sound to the Home theater receiver. When the source is a
digital component such as a DVD / Blu-ray player / Cable Box / Satellite receiver (Set-Top Box) and is connected to the
TV via HDMI, only 2 channel sound will be heard from the Home Theater receiver. If you want to hear 5.1 channel audio,
connect the digital audio out jack on DVD / Blu-ray player / Cable Box / Satellite receiver (Set-Top Box) directly to an
Amplifier or Home Theater, not the TV."

Thanks for the question! In order to enhance the sound to make voices clearer, or to just over all enhance the audio, head into the TV's menu, then to the Sound sub-menu. Once there, you can head to the "Mode" option where you will have the ability to adjust between settings such as Music, Movie and even Clear Voice. You should also have SRS TruSurround turned on, and if you so choose to, you can enter the equalizer to further adjust the sound.
