Yes, it has a PC input which is also applicable with PIP. You will need an S-video port for connection to it's PC input.

If you purchase the TV within the USA, it will be NTSC spec and would not work properly displaying a PAL signal.

I'm sorry you are having an issue with your TV/PC connection. Although you are connecting the TV to the PC correctly, I would suggest turning the HDMI black levels to any setting but off. This should fix your brightness problem. If you have any further questions, please refer to page 42 of the user's manual for a listing of compatible resolutions, or if the issue is not resolved, please contact 800-SAMSUNG for a live solution.

If you purchase the unit within the North American Territories, it will only have support for NTSC/ATSC/QAM broadcasting systems and only 100v-127v 60Hz power. Outside of the NA territories you will not only need a converter for the broadcast, but also for the power.

A delayed turn on could be normal or an indication that something is wrong depending on the length of the delay. A 10 second delay is about normal for your model TV.

Although this model does not have direct access to Samsung Apps or any other internet content, it can access App content through a 2010 Samsung BD player (the blu-ray player will handle the Internet content processing). Additionally, the Samsung Linkstick can only facilitate a network connection to Samsung Devices that already offer either network connectivity or Internet@TV and Samsung Apps. It cannot add additional features.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

Samsung TVs normally take between 10 - 15 seconds to turn on. As the TV powers on it is susceptible to errors from interactions from connected external devices. To prevent errors during this booting process the TV will boot up and then the display will appear. If the TV is taking longer than 15 seconds to turn on there may be an issue with the TV.

We recommend you review the following troubleshooting guide to isolate what the issue may be.

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=12875&modelname=LN40A530P1F&modelcode=&session_id=PXL3V69GdTQQpw4bhcnggchH8L8cfh6TVSFymngWj2v751Nw4B8P%21858796491%21-1240397946%211339508791693

If the issue persists beyond the recommended troubleshooting, we recommend you submit a service request.

Question

Television doing the same thing it did last time it was serviced

My television is doing the exact same thing it did the last time it was serviced. It clicks several minutes and does not turn on. The TV is no longer under warranty , but since it is the same exact problem I do not feel I should have to pay for this repair. Please advise what I need to do do get this fixed. This is ridiculous, is it going to continue to do this every time I get it "repaired"?
