Question

HDMI and 5.1 sound

The manual reads, "When the source is a digital component such as a DVD and it is connected to the TV via HDMI, you will hear only 2 channel sound from the receiver."

I can't believe this means the Samsung TV is limited to passing through a stereo signal from an HDMI source. If I have a Roku connected to the set via HDMI, I'm never going to get 5.1 audio from it? Please tell me that's not true, that would be absurd.

TV Stand

I purchased the TV a few months ago but the stand was always unstable. The screws did not go in all the way. I assume they were not the correct size. What do I do? By the way the TV works very well.

The problem seems to be, for me, at least; is that the screws need lots of turning. You would think they would never "bottom out". But they do eventually. One must take lots of care and apply lots of patience with the stand assembly.

I'm sorry for the confusion, but the "PRE-CH" button that allows you to return to the previous channel you were viewing before the one you are currently viewing will only work when the source input is set to TV (coax). The "PRE-CH" button will not return to the previous channel if you are viewing a signal from a device that is connected through the HDMI/RCA/Component connections.

By navigating into your TV's menu, then going to the "Channel" sub-menu, you will see an option called "Channel List". Enter that option and you will see the "all" option at the top. Click into that and you will see the full view of every channel, active and inactive, that your TV has previously found. From there you can manually add or remove the channel by highlighting the channel you desire to adjust, click enter, and select "add" or “remove” from the drop down menu.

Although the color of the AV IN [Y/VIDEO] jack (Green) will not match the color of the video cable (Yellow); the unit actually does accept a composite connection. To connect it properly, just connect the video (Yellow) cable to the green COMPONENT IN [Y/VIDEO] jack and the audio cables(Red/White) to the COMPONENT IN [R-AUDIO-L] jacks. For additional information, please refer to the device’s manual.

You can use your remote Menu button to open Picture Mode option>Press Enter>use Down arrow to scroll to Screen Adjustment>Right arrow to open Adjustment options. There are 5; 2 are not available on my set. That may be due to not having a signal source(cable, antenna, satellite) at this time. Make your selection> press Enter - you're done. Ii's unlikely but you may have to "re-tweak" some picture settings. Best regards!
