most of the time that happens when you watch an hd channel on cable and that cant be corrected while watching movies the black strips that you see are because of the format of movie (widescreen) on your dvd player remote or blu ray remote there should be a zoom button hit it once to make your movie full screen

In order to access Captioning, you will want to head into the TV's menu, then into the setup or system sub-menu to access the CC options or to just activate it, press the CC button on the remote control. However, CC is only available via the coax cable since the CC signal has to be sent by your service provider. The CC information cannot be sent via HDMI or other secondary connections from 3rd party devices. That said, most service provider set top boxes and DVD/BD players will handle CC on board, which will then be displayed on the TV as part of the video signal. Captions are subject to your service provider’s availability.

TV Stand

I purchased the TV a few months ago but the stand was always unstable. The screws did not go in all the way. I assume they were not the correct size. What do I do? By the way the TV works very well.

The problem seems to be, for me, at least; is that the screws need lots of turning. You would think they would never "bottom out". But they do eventually. One must take lots of care and apply lots of patience with the stand assembly.

Question

I need a model code, the model code on the LN 32d450 is 1DXZA, what would it be in numbers?

I have tried the AT&T U-verse auto search to program the remote control, but it does not link with the TV, and it does not work with the Samsung codes in their list of codes.

Due to some manufacturers using different codes for their IR remotes, Samsung does not offer universal codes or support for these remotes. In order to find out your remote’s code for our Samsung TVs, it is best that you contact your remotes manufacturer for further details.
Additionally, the model code for the LN32D450 is the model number itself, however, please contact AT&T directly to find out if they have a different way of categorizing the TVs for their system.

I'm sorry for the confusion, but the "PRE-CH" button that allows you to return to the previous channel you were viewing before the one you are currently viewing will only work when the source input is set to TV (coax). The "PRE-CH" button will not return to the previous channel if you are viewing a signal from a device that is connected through the HDMI/RCA/Component connections.

By navigating into your TV's menu, then going to the "Channel" sub-menu, you will see an option called "Channel List". Enter that option and you will see the "all" option at the top. Click into that and you will see the full view of every channel, active and inactive, that your TV has previously found. From there you can manually add or remove the channel by highlighting the channel you desire to adjust, click enter, and select "add" or “remove” from the drop down menu.

Although the color of the AV IN [Y/VIDEO] jack (Green) will not match the color of the video cable (Yellow); the unit actually does accept a composite connection. To connect it properly, just connect the video (Yellow) cable to the green COMPONENT IN [Y/VIDEO] jack and the audio cables(Red/White) to the COMPONENT IN [R-AUDIO-L] jacks. For additional information, please refer to the device’s manual.

Question

Adjusting the sleep timer to 10 or 15 minute increments???

I just upgraded my Samsung 450 Series LCD TV LN32D450G1DXZA in the hopes that I could change my sleep timer settings to 10-15 minute increments instead of 30 minutes... With the advent of Netflix and other streaming videos that don't last 30 minutes, I assumed the would adjust that...

Is there any way I can manually adjust that in one of the menus myself??

Your TV does not support streaming, so any media files you wish to play should be copied to a USB flash drive. Plug the USB drive into the TV and you'll have the ability to play certain file types. We recommend you review the following support article:
