There are two ways to connect your PC or Mac to your Samsung TV for monitor functionality: HDMI to HDMI or HDMI to VGA/DVI/Displayport. Please note, in the PC's operating system, you will need to set the display settings to either clone or extended view and set the PC’s resolution to match that of the maximum resolution of the TV in order to view your PC's desktop on the TV.

If your PC offer HDMI out, I would highly suggest using this connection, since it is a basic plug-n-play connection (meaning almost no adjustment is needed on the TV or PC).

HDMI to VGA/DVI/Displayport is almost the same as straight HDMI, but in this case, you will want to connect the DVI end of the cable to the PC (if available) and the HDMI into the TV. This is also considered a plug-n-play connection.

Unless otherwise specified by your PC manufacturer, you will need to connect the PC's audio to the TV with a separate cable (3.5mm jack cable), since most PCs do not support audio over HDMI, VGA or DVI.

Additionally, the Samsung TVs do not offer wireless or networked monitor capabilities.

Thank you for the opportunity to assist you,

Question

I just got this TV a few weeks ago and at first channel 11 (WTTW) worked and now it does not. It says 'weak or no signal.'

I don't have cable but have it plugged into the cable jack.

If you don't have cable, you need rabbit ears, in other words, a tv antenna. The signal might have been strong enough last week, but not anymore, the cable wire works as a very weak, and horrible substitute, get a tv top antenna.

The 403 has closed caption but only for over the air programming or straight cable programming using the CC key on the remote. For closed captioning through your HD cable box, you would need to go to the cable box settings. For mine I simply turn the box off and hit the menu key for the cable box setup to be displayed. If this does not work for you contact your cable company for the specifics.

answer 2
You should look at the instructions. The way I did it was to screw 3 screws to the foundation and the little standing thingy. These three screws are a pain because you have to screw them until they don't turn anymore. Otherwise, your tv will be swinging like mine. Then, after you assemble the 2 base parts into each other, you stick it the TV and you should have 4 more screws that need to go in. The screws look like they don't fit at first, but they go in all right. Make sure you tighten all the way to the end.

On the bottom middle of the back of the TV, there should be between 2 to 4 screws that attach the stand to the panel. Remove those screws, and you should be able to just lift the panel off the stand with little force. Please use 2 people whenever handling the panel so that it does not tip over or fall, and so that you do not strain yourself.

Question

How do I get rid of the box in the upper left of the screen EVERY time I change channels?

There is a box of information that appears each time I change channels. It covers up the banner from the cable company that gives me the information about the channel I turned to. But because of Samsung's box that appears, I can NEVER see the banner that tells me the info on the channel I selected. The Samsung boxs says "HDMI1/DVI" there is also a number that changes depending on the channel or show playing. It sometimes says "720x480" or it might say "1289x720." Different numbers for different programs. I want to get rid of the box of information - - - for good. It is extremely annoying.
