Question

Samsung 32" TV (LN32A450) will not power on. Red standby light blinks once, then solid, then it won't turn on?

Sometimes it will power on fine, but most of the time, it will take between 3-10 (sometimes more) attempts at pressing the power button before it powers on.

Question

How to stop the volume from periodically decreasing to 0 all by itself?

my tv just started independently adjusting the volume down to zero. i have to adjust the volume back up repeatedly (using either the remote or the tv buttons makes no difference) to stabilize the condition and then restore volume. this is really annoying. has anyone had this kind of problem?

As a matter of fact, the LN32A450 can be wall mounted. You will want to use a Vesa approved wall mount with a bracket size of 200mm x 200mm.

I would suggest heading into your TV's menu, then select the Sound sub-menu. Within the sub-menu, you will find the sound reset option along the bottom of the screen. Try resetting the audio by selecting this option to see if this resolves your issue. If it does not, please make a service request at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o... for further assistance.

Question

QAM tuning / Digital Cable

I own a LN32A450 and by virtue of its QAM tuner, was able to recieve alll my subscibed analog and digital cable channels without the use of a cable box (comcast). Now the DTV can only pick up a fraction of the channels. I reprogrammed the channel settings (STD, HRC, IRC) and still no luck.

Will I have to get an extra cable box (at extra cost) or will there be a frimware / hotfix available to correct this situation?

Most likely this is an issue with your service provider and not the TV itself. I see that you have already tried to reprogram the TV's channels, and had no luck retrieving your old channels. If you head into the TV's menu, then go to the "Channel" sub-menu, you will see an option called "Channel List". Enter that option and you will see the "all" option at the top. Click into that and you will see the full view of every channel, active and inactive, that your TV has found. From there you can manually add the channel by highlighting the channel you desire to add, click enter, and select "add" from the drop down menu. If you have tried this and you still have no luck adding your channels, please either contact your Service provider for additional information on channel availability or 800-SAMSUNG for additional TV tuning.

How do I connect my TV and BD-P1500 DVD player up to Samsung using a router?

My TV and stereo are in the living room with the modem and router. My computer is in the dining room. Netflix indicated that I should connect the BluRay DVD player to the system, so I connected it to the router, but that did not work. I tried a few other things, but with no luck...

The PC is probably not outputting the correct resolution. Connect it to another monitor that works, set it to the correct resolution (can be found in the manual) for your TV and then reconnect it to the TV. This is much easier if you have multiple video outputs on your graphics card/motherboard, because you can hook up a working monitor and the TV at the same time and set the correct settings that way. You can also remotely connect to the PC with another PC to change the resolution.

By modem board I assume you mean a device to connect to the internet (linkstick)? If that is so, I'm sorry to say that the LN32A450 does not have the capability to support this feature.

Question

How can I fix an intermittent picture issue?

The picture goes to a white screen, appearing ghostly with perfect audio. If the TV is slightly moved the picture will go to this white screen and if slightly moved will come back to normal, but can go back to a white screen if the TV settles. All connections have been confirmed. Appears to have a loose connection within the TV itself.

Question

Extreme brightness

Lately when we turn on the TV the screen is extremely bright white. Meaning that we can see our shows but i guess the best way to describe it is, image placing thin layer of white tissue paper over the screen. That is what it looks like. everything is washed out white and clarity is at best fuzzy. This is our first LCD screen via tv moniter so little worried. About year and half old and should not be giving us fits. The fastest way currently to fix is shut off and unplug television and wait few seconds and plug back in. Never had this issue before until recently.

The light should be off when the TV is on. The red indicator light is to let you know the TV is in standby mode. The light will blink when the TV is turning on. If your TV won't turn on, it probably needs repaired or replaced.

Question

I did have a full screen on 16:9 but now I can't get to the "wide fit" on my picture menu. It is visible but not accessible.

I did add a new DVD/VCR recorder to the set and that created the screen shrinking. I disconnected completely the DVD/VCR recorder but I still can't get my to "wide fit" on my picture menu. What is happening?
