Question

My Samsung LN-T5271F is not working properly

when I attempt to turn the TV on either with the remote or at the button on the TV set, the TV seems to click on/off spontaneously. This process could last a few minutes until the TV finally turns on. It's getting worse with time, this can be very annoying, can you advise what is the solution for the problem? thank you.

Question

My LN-T5171F was getting High Def channels but not any longer

When I first hooked up my tv, I was getting about five high def channels but I suddenly stopped getting them. I am on basic cable so I really don't know how I got them to begin with unless there is a built in tuner. I have another high def TV that is still getting the HD channels so I know the cable wasn't changed (or whatever the source is...). Is there a reset feature I can select to get it back to the factory settings?

Question

Problem turning on TV

I purchased my LN-T5271F on 12/23/07 and I love it. However recently, everytime I turn it on, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes of clicking (the TV itself, not me with the controls) on and off until it builds up enough of whatever until it finally turns on. A picture does not appear until it finally turns on. The blue light seems to go on and off but getting brighter as it slowly builds up enough of whatever until it stays on. Once on, everything is fine. What do you think??

Please help.

Question

I have an LCD TV model LN-T5271F. Is this a multi-system (i.e. handles both PAL and NTSC)?

I will be moving to a PAL country and wanted to know if I will need to buy a PAL to NTSC converter. I did not see any mention in the owner's manual regarding this.

Question

If I get a good replacement BN94-01442A board should it work regardless of the firmware version the TV set has?

BACKGROUND:
I have a Samsung LNT5271F LCD TV that has the MISC FRC BN94-01442A board assembly going out. After warmup both vertical and horizontal lines show up in the display screen. At first it didn't occur very often and was very sensitive to mechanical vibrations (tapping on the plastic TV case would clear up the lines and return to normal operation.) I verified that it was the BN94-01442A board by blowing a heat gun on one of the large IC's on that board; heating the chip up brought on the problem and when heat was removed the problem went away. I think there may be a bad solder joint on one or more of the pins on the "ball grid array" under the chip on that board. Anyway, I purchased a replacement board on-line which had the same look and part number as the board in the set, but the replacement board didn't work at all; the screen was black with it so I returned that board and put the original one back in. In the mean time the original board has gotten worse and needs to be replaced.

QUESTIONS:
1.) Is there firmware in this board and, if so, does the board firmware version need to be the same version as that in the TV set? At first I thought the replacement board I purchased was simply defective but then I wondered later if it may have been a firmware compatibility issue that didn't allow the replacement board to produce a picture. I do remember updating the firmware to a later version in the TV about 6 months to a year after I purchased it.

2.) If I get a good replacement BN94-01442A board should it work regardless of the firmware version the TV set has?

Thank you for your assistance.

Question

My TV started taking longer and longer to turn on. The switch would "click" again and again, and now it won't turn on at all. Is this a known issue?

Is it covered under any sort of recall? We rarely use the switch, mostly the remote to control the TV, and yet it won't turn on at all. Help!

Question

Why it takes so long to turn on?

When I turn the power on to the TV, it can take well over a minute to turn on. The TV will act like it is going to turn on but then turns off again, the blue light at the power switch turns on and off for sometimes two to three minutes before I get a picture.
