Ideally you connect your cable box HDMI output to your AV receiver with an HDMI cable plugged into the SAT HDMI input and another HDMI cable plugged into the output HDMI on your receiver to the input HDMI on the TV.

Yes. All components should be connected via HDMI to the receiver and then from the receiver to the TV.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue.

Cable and Satellite box companies often program their remotes with their own code banks. In order to get codes that are compatible with Samsung (or any!) manufacturer's devices, you'll need to contact your service provider to see which codes are available for your model.

I trolled the web and found a code for my specific box. Just typed in program "your cable companies name" remote with hw-d600 and after filtering a few links found one that worked...for Comcast remote with red "ok/select button" I used 10060. May not work for all remotes...Hope this helps.

Question

What is the difference between the HW-D600 and HW-D650S receivers?

They have the same PDF manual and the manual doesn't indicate any differences I could see. The online spec summary says the D650S has WiFi built in, but that doesn't seem to be addressed at all in the combo manual. Anyone know for sure?

The D650S has speakers in the box with the receiver. So it is an all in one home theater in a box system.

Question

iphone song list - how can I choose a song? I cannot see the list of songs. "Accesory Connect" is the only thing visible on the iphone

When you connect the iphone, a screen displays on the iphone " Accessory Connect" and you cannot click to the song list. The Receiver begins to play the songs in alphabetical order. How can I get to the list and choose among the songs on it, rather than have the Samsung simply play the sequence in alphabertical order?

Question

input defaults to TV, need it to default to SAT

When I turn on my Samsung TV, and then the Samsung D600 amp, the amp input always switches to TV. Is there any way to prevent this and have the amp input default to SAT, rather than having to push the SAT button each time?

If you're using Anynet+ and the television and receiver are connected with HDMI, try turning on the receiver first. The television will then be notified to power up and switch to the appropriate input.

The amplifier may go to a default setting if not using Anynet+, but if that doesn't help, reach out to the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG.

Question

iPod connector

On the back of the unit is a input location for an iPod. Initially I thought this was a typical USB type connection, however, on attempting to connect my iPod using the iPod to USB cable I found the input on the A/V different. I do not recognize the iPod input connector on the Samsung HW-D600 A/V amplifier. Can you please let me know what type of cable connects the iPod to the A/V amplifier?

Thank you for contacting Samsung. This is a proprietary port. if you've lost the cradle that would hold the iPod, you can find all the parts and accessories to your product here: http://www.samsungparts.com/Products/Parts_and_Accessories/HWD600/Default.aspx
