It does not and you can not hook one up either. This bar sounds as good as you can get it out of the box. No way to add on to it

The HW-D350 does not require a subwoofer. To my knowledge it does not have one built in. However, it does provide adequate bass out of the box. I was surprised at how good the bar sounds.

-1- call direct tv technical support and ask the question
-2- if they blow you off, ask for a supervisor and ask it be elevated to a level 2 or 3 tech support person
-3- if this fails, google - - > direct tv code for hw-d350 ---> and go to one of the forums for more information . . . I use a cable box and have resigned to using two remotes
-4- if all else fails, call samsung tech support at 800 726 7864

ALSO . . . use the highest quality HDMI cables in ALL your connections - -do the research in google to determine what to look for before you buy

Question

Why can't I control the volume on my soundbar with my cable box remote?

Hi,
I just got a HW-D350 soundbar and attached it to my Samsung 50in plasma tv via an optical cable. The problem is the remote control that I use from my Comcast Cable Hi-Def Box will not work for adjusting the volume on the soundbar.
How do I get the cable remote to adjust the sound up and down on the soundbar? I don't want to have to use multipal remotes.
Thank you,
jeff

the sound bar is not expensive so as a benefit of this good deal, you get the pleasure of using two remotes, as do I . . . the tech support people at Samsung told me they do not have codes for such work yet . . . key word, yet . . . IMHO the cheap price of the sound bar results in no upgrades or creature comforts . . . are u also using high quality (not necessarily the most expensive) HDMI cables too for best results?

To sync the two you must use a digital optical TOSLINK cable from the digital optical audio output of the TV to the optical digital input of the speaker bar. On the speaker bar select DIGI.1 or DIGI.2 according to which input you made the connection on the speaker bar. On the remote for the speaker bar press the Auto Power button and confirm that it is on as shown on the speaker bar display. If off, just press it again and it will display on.

On the remote for the television, press the menu button and go to the sound section. Set the speakers to external speaker.

Now you should be able to control both using the speaker bar remote. Press TV power and both the TV and speaker bar will come on. Changing channels, adjusting volume level, and using the mute should then be done using only the speaker bar remote. The volume and mute buttons on the TV remote will not function now. Setting the speaker to external disables those functions on the TV remote.

Question

How do I hook up my sound bar to my tv with wii also hooked up

I have a 50 inch samsung plasma tv. Just got a samsung sound bar HW-D350. I want to hook both the sound bar and my wii (for video streaming) up to my tv but only have one set of red and white output plug in which the wii has to go in. I am on satellite dish and also have a dvd hook up. The sound bar works for dvds when hooked direct to the dvd player but not for the tv or movies from the wii. The dvd player is hooked to the tv with a hdmi cable. Do I need to get an optical cable to hook the sound bar to the tv and have everything else hooked up as well? Please offer suggestions. Thanks.

Have you tried disconnecting it and are using an optical cable . . . . and also disconnecting the cable tv box and tv completely from each other after you do a complete power down? Changed the remote batteries lately? Are you using an HDMI cable from your tv to your cable or satellite boxif that does not work but another if this is not under warranty any longer as the item is not that expensive and likely built not to last very long
