I do in fact have this same issue and I haven't been able to fix it. For instance, when I am navigating the menus in my PS3, I don't hear the "clicking" sounds unless I am going thru something like Hulu where there's many shows to click on and can just hold the button down so it goes really fast, THEN the clicks start coming thru. Also, I just bought Rock Band 3 for the XBOX and was calibrating the guitar and in order to do that, you have to strum the guitar in sequence with a click track. Once again, the clicks weren't coming thru the system, I had to do that thru the normal TV speakers. :-(

I am with you on this one as well. Occasionally the sound will drop out while viewing a movie from the blue ray player... thought it was a heat issue, but increasing air flow around the system does not seem to help. All connections are good, etc as well...

I had this same issue with three of the four HDMI connections not passing video. Change to the HDMI input source you are having the issue with. Next open the lower front panel and push the "Audio Assign Button" to HDMI. Repeat process for the remaing HDMI port inputs your having an issue with such as "TV "SAT" etc. If you are having a problem locating the "Audio Assign Button" download the Samsung manual it shows the front panel button layout on pages 8 an 9.

Once you connect the ipod, the receiver is in control. It won't play the ipod in any other format than from the start of your list to the end. Push play on the remote and you can skip from song to song but only one at a time. It's pretty limited but it will play.

My kids hate this so if Samsung is reading this, please update this function in a firmware upgrade.

Here is what one of the reviewers wrote. See if this helps you out too:
"You need to add an optical digital cable to be able to get tv to work through speakers. I used an hdmi cable for outgoing stuff to tv and an optical cable to input from tv. I also had to call 800 number to correct settings . It was only playing out of front speakers from tv until I changed to matrix mode. This is glossed over in the manual and a bigger explanation is needed.

Yes, I'm almost 100 percent sure about it because the reciever itself has HDMI 1.4 for 3D, depending on the HDMI cable you have. Plus it's a relatively new product.

Connect the Will component cables into one of the component inputs on the back of the AV receiver (you can follow the quick set up guide for BD/ DVD hook up to see which one). From there, you must also run a separate component cable from the AV Receiver to your TV. Once you do that, select the source that you have plugged the input into (TV, SAT, BD, etc.) Make sure that the audio assignment for that source is set to 'Optic' or 'Analog' and you should be set.

Question

Component Input - HDMI Output?

I have a Wii with a component output that I have hooked to Input 2 on my HT. I assumed that the HT would transmit the signal from this input thru the HDMI connnection to my TV, but I don't get any video unless I hook up the component output to my TV. Can the unit transmit from a componet input to the HDMI output? Also, my TV (UN55C8000) is connected using Anynet and when I switch sources between HDMI 1 and Componet for my Wii then back to HDMI 1 my HT source changes to Optical. Is there a way to "lock" this to the HDMI so it will not switch? If the Component input would output through the HDMI the second question would become moot . . . but good to know.
Thanks for your help.

From the other people who have hooked up a Wii and asked Samsung this question, only HDMI sources will pass through the HDMI cable to the TV. Since the Wii only has CVI or component cables then you will have to also have a CVI or component cable from the receiver to TV. As for your second question - there is a note in the setup instructions that to use +Anynet with your tv you have to hook up an optical cable from the receiver to TV.
Hope this helps

Yes you can. To do so you will need to also have component cables. Use the component cables going out of the Wii into one of the component inputs on the receiver. You will also need a set of component cables running out of your AV receiver into your tv so that it can pass through the video to the TV. When you're ready to play the Wii make sure that your ty channel/ output is set to 'Component' rather than HDMI and you should be good to go. I have this set up with my system as well so I know it works. Good luck.

Use the input select button on the front of the HW-560CS or use the remote. If using the remote don't forget to toggle between the LED lights on the AMP/TV button or the remote wont talk to the receiver. Also download the manual on page 14 it has a description of the remote button sources.

First thing to do is isolate the problem. Try swapping the speakers. i.e. put the known good speaker on the channel giving you trouble and put the suspect speaker on the know good channel, this will help you determine if it is a bad speaker or a bad connection or possibly a bad setting or amp problem.

bottom line hook the non working speaker to the know working speaker wire first.

It could be corrected if we knew what the source of the problem was. It could be possible that either the cable is bad, the speaker was blown out, or if we know the sound is coming that way from the head unit.

Without knowing which problem we're looking at, it's hard to determine what the diagnosis would be.

Parts for your home theater system are available at the www.SamsungParts.com website (cables, speakers, etc) if you are able to determine where the problem might be.

I had to call Samsung for the answer to this question. You have to hook up an output on the receiver to the TV from the "Monitor out" on the receiver. The analog inputs do not stream through HDMI. There is a setting in the manual for changing the audio. Select the Input that you are connected to and then push the "Audio Assign" button on the remote until you hear sound.

If you are going to try to attempt to set up where you can play your game and listen to music at the same time, you might be best served by connecting the game console directly to television with USB. Then you can use any input you want (DVD, music, etc) to the home theater system while you play your game.

Unfortunately, having the sound come from a different port rather than the assigned audio input that's designed ( particularly difficult with HDMI), would be difficult to do.
