Question
Why won't my Home Theater properly output sound anymore?
I have been using a Samsung HT-Z520 and a Samsung LED LCD HDTV UN55B6000 together for a year or two now. I have my Xbox360 and my Playstation 3 hooked into the Home Theater system with an HDMI splitter so that I can watch/play one or the other with surround sound. Recently, for some reason, my surround sound all of the sudden stopped correctly outputting the sound to the speakers. At first I thought it was just my Playstation, but it happened on my Xbox360 AND the built in DVD player on the Home theater system. Sound will come out of the speakers, but it will just be the music and background noise. The voices of the actors are so low that its less then a whisper. When I do get the voices to come out of the speakers, its only on 1 side (The back right speaker). Also, I can no longer switch the sound mode (e.g. Matrix, Cinema, Music, etc) when in HDMI mode, and I could do that before.
I have checked and rechecked all the cords. I have reseated them and rewired everything just in case. Nothing works. Do you have any idea what is going on? Is there a setting missing? As I said, this happens with the native DVD player built in as well, so its not just an issue with the consoles.
