My soundbar is hooked up to an audio optical input. The system does not let me change the input mode to dolby or DTS. It is constantly fixed on PCM.
Also my soundbar does not turn on when I turn on the TV but dose turn off when I turn the TV off.

Input PCM, Dolby, DTS is determined and indicated by your source audio from TV or whatever it is hooked to. It is not selectable on the soundbar. You must change the output of the source device and the soundbar will indicate what it is receiving. Most TV allow PCM or Dolby select and some will output DTS. You will have to look around in your sound setup menue.
This product does have both a digital (fiber) input, as well as a 1/8" mini-jack input. So if you take your speaker outputs from another device and use an adapter to change them to 1/8" "headphone" jack, you should be able to plug it into this speaker bar. I've plugged in portable music players to mine before, such as an Ipod, or a smartphone.

You did not say which remote you are using. If you have the universe remote that comes with cable/DSL units then you have to program the remote for the AV1 position. But this also means that to turn the soundbar on you have to switch to the AV1 position, point the remote at the cable/DSL box and press the "pwr" button not the on button under power.

Is there a setting on the tv for using external speakers? If so this may be the solution, have you tried connecting the sound bar to another devise? If you get sound with other devises it may be something wrong with your tv, or just a setting you need to change, however if the other devises dont work it could be defective.

You can Press the Power link button on your sound bar remote and that should link both units to your tv remote, this allows the sound bar to automatically turn off or on with the tv and also the volume controlls on your tv will work on the soundbar. Check the user manual for more details on Power Link.
I like some help. My sub woofer speaker hums, even when the tv is off unless the volumn was turned down when the tv was shut off.

It may be a defect, i had a similar problem with the actual sound bar humming, i had returned it and got a new one. the new one doesnt have a hum, neither of the two subwoofers from either unit i had hummed, so i think it most deffenetly is a deffect or prehaps something got loose inside. hope this helps.
My sound bar turns back on after I turn it off. I have to unplug it at the end of the day.

Without knowing why your subwoofer is making that noise, it's difficult to determine the best course of action. I might recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG for further assistance and troubleshooting.

Question
Samsung soundbar
I didn't need the wall mount when I purchased my soundbar. I may or may not still have it. Can you tell me what the mount looks like for a model HT-WS1? Can I buy one separately if I can not find mine?
