Question

How Does One Update HT-EM35 firmware,?

Samsung's ht-em35 has a firmware update available but one cannot update the unit even after contacting Support... Be it online or via usb the HT-EM35 will not update to the new version of the firmware. Contacted Support hopeful of resolving the issue but aside from cordial chat with the Reps there is no apparent solution to this problem with the unit...

Was advised to request Service but as of now, after making the Service Request, the site shows no request pending and one is appalled with the thought of having to repeat the arduous process of completing another request. So the simple question is how does a Samsung customer enlist help to get this matter resolved, get a simple firmware update?

Why is it that the unit will connect to the servers of Netflix, Youtube, Vudu, etc. yet be unable to connect to the server of the product's manufacturer?

You also have the option of updating your home theater's firmware via USB. Just open the link below and click on Manuals & Downloads > Firmware and download the update and upgrade guide for instructions. You will need a blank USB flash drive to complete the update process.

my manual refers to using stop mode how do i do this

in trying to hook up an ipod it says go to home menu then stop mode where is it?

Stop mode is simply the main menu screen with no other mode being active.

Based on our research, we saw mention of Stop Mode in the manual in the Home menu. We believe Stop Mode refers to the device when media such as a CD, DVD or Blu-ray are not playing. Also, a USB storage device is typically a USB flash drive. Also, there's no specific mention of iPod in the manual, so support for the device is unknown unless you test it.

Being that the speakers & included wires are custom for this unit (not to mention low impedance) I wouldn't even recommend attempting that.

Sorry Itzvenkat, the apps that come with the HT-EM35 is all that's available for that system. Although you can play video & audio files from a USB using the included port.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.The HT-EM35 is a base model for the Home theater systems. Smart Hub is not available for this model it comes the only applications that are available for this blu-ray are the ones that come pre-installed.

Question

After Updates to Home Theater How Does one get Netflix to work Again?

After updating Samsung's HT-EM25 from software version 1000.1 to 1005.5 streaming service Netflix - which once worked flawlessly - no longer loads after having logged into the Netflix site. The unit loads the Netflix site to display offerings, permits one to select the desired movie to view then begins to load. However, Netflix begins to load then stalls at 25%... One can depress the return button, select another movie but it also stalls after loading 25%

Attempting to exit from Netflix poses another problem in addition to the above in that one must turn OFF the unit to exit Netflix then turn it back on to use other features. Thus far I have turned off the unit, unplugged the unit for approximately five minutes, reset the router & reset the HT-EM35 but the problem persists.

Spent approximately two and one half hours chatting with Support confident Samsung's experts would offer a reliable solution. Support, both a rep and supervisor, had me repeat my above listed efforts but the unit still does not fully load Netflix content for viewing. So, is there a solution to this problem which Samsung must assuredly be aware of/

Smart Hub Version: ???
Firmware version: 1005.5?
MAC Address: ???
Network environment: ???
Unique ID/ ESN number: ???
The error: Netflix begins to load a title then stalls at 25%
When the issue began: After firmware upgrade to 1005.5
Troubleshooting attempted: Resetting the device and router
