Question
Smart Apps on both TV and Blu-ray player -- which to use?
I am going to receive the Samsung HT-E6730W Home Theater package and connect it to my Samsung UN60ES8000 Smart TV. Both have Smart Apps. Does it matter which set of Smart Apps I use? It may seem like a silly question, but I've read that the speed of the Smart Apps varies depending on what device they are running on. Just curious.

I have this exact setup. It does not matter which one you use. When you get the 6730 you will have to do a bit of updating to load all the apps so that it will have the look and feel of the ES8000. It would be nice to be able to disable one of them when running Anynet+. I haven't really noticed and major load time difference between the two. This setup is perfect, you made a good choice.
Thank you for contacting Samsung. Underneath "One Finger", you can turn off the tapping function that should alleviate most of those problems. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!
Why is there no sound coming from wireless rear speakers?
The rear speakers work while doing a test, but no sound during movies or regular TV, thinking it is a setting somewhere.

The Rear Speakers are primarily for the sound effects for movies. In a normal situation you won't have the rear speakers because the program hasn't been produced for surround sound and effects.

it all depends on the how the movie/show was formatted. I have noticed that a lot of shows on cable only play through the front speakers. a few premium movie channels will play with 5.1 decoding. Also make sure the settings on the set top box, gaming console are set to send 5.1 audio instead of regular stereo.

I have a set of Sanus HF1 speaker stands that are adjustable and point the speakers at a slight downward angle. the stands conceal the speaker wires and heavy enough to prevent tipping. it also includes many mounting options for different speakers. All in all I really like these because of the all the features and they fit nicely behind the couch.

does this receiver have 3D pass-through where I can hook up my cable box and Xbox to the receiver and get the 3D that way or will I need to hook those two components to the TV and send the audio from the TV to the receiver?

Main (center) channel output low and muffled with blue ray movies
I have gone through multiple settings and even changed the equalizer to try to improve this to no avail. It is primarily the vocals that seem to be drowned out by surrounding audio. This is why I am saying it is the center channel. I have ran the test sequence and it appears fine at that point. It only occurs with blue ray movies and on occasional Netflix streaming. Regular television and dvd's don't have this problem. PLEASE help. I have an extensive blue ray collection and this is severely impacting the enjoyment I am getting out of this unit.

Seemingly randomly, my unit turns its volume down. I've verified that its not a random IR signal, nor is someone controlling my unit through allshare. I assume its a glitch with the volume control in the unit itself.

Hi! I have a setup question that hopefully someone can help me with.
We bought the 55" UN55ES8000 HD LED TV and the Samsung 7.1 Surround Home Theatre HT-E6730W. I have hooked it up as follows:
LED TV to Home Theatre Receiver with HMDI Cable. (From HDMI Out on the Receiver to HDMI 2 port on the TV) Verizon Fios MultiRoom DVR Motorola QIP 7216 to E6730W Receiver into HDMI1 In with HDMI Cable. XBOX 360 to E6730W Receiver into HDMI1 In with HDMI Cable.
I have the Verizon Remote programmed to operate the TV and Receiver and have the TV plugged into the DVR so that when I turn on the DVR the TV turns on at the same time.
So here is the question with setup: When you turn on the system (ie Turn on the TV and DVR and then turn on the Receiver, the TV starts with our cable signal and then after 2 seconds switches to the D.INPUT Screen and you have to grab the Samsung Receiver remote and switch modes back to HDMI1 to watch the output of the cable box. Which is mildly annoying. And on the D.INPUT screen it says a optical cable is required.
In the manual it gives you three method of connecting the set-top box to the receiver: Method 1 - HDMI Method 2 - Optical Digital Audio Cable Method 3 - Aux In - RCA Composite
I did method 1. HDMI is supposed to send both the Audio and Video Signal. And the instructions don't say you need to pick 2 of the methods (ie Methods 1+2 or Methods 1+3)
Quesion 1: Based on the above am I supposed to hook up the set-top box with both an HDMI and the Optical DIgital Cable so that the Mode change doesn't happen?
Question 2: If I do this do we lose anything in the audio? as their is surround sound audio from the set-box that we are now hearing that we don't want to lose. The DVR Optical Audio Out is an S/PDIF output. I read that you cannot get 7.1 from an S/PDIF output and that 5.1 only comes through in Dolby or DTS?
Is there a way to stop the Mode change without the use of the optical cable as well?

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
We recommend you review the following support article:
If you choose to use HDMI instead of optical cabling, we recommend you turn off Anynet+. This will disable the switch that takes place to the other source.
To answer your questions, you don't need to have both HDMI and Optical connected at the same time. Both HDMI and Optical will support surround sound.
I registered my Home theatre system this morning, but I left off the trailing letter at the end of the serial number which apparently indicates the date of manufacture, i.e. ZUMH12AC800357.
I have tried several times to correct this using the update registration procedures on your website, but when I view the account information, the changes were not made and the original information I entered is still there.
How do I get this information corrected? The correct serial number is ZUMH12AC800357D.

Can I connect the HT-E6730W to an external AV Receiver instead of using it as the receiver?
I want to connect the HT-E6730W to a Denon AV Receiver instead of using the Samsung HT device as the receiver. In other words, I only want to use the 6730 as a blu-ray player. Can I do that?

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
We have conferred with our resident home theater specialist and she says since the HT-E6730W has two HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output, if your Denon receiver supports HDMI pass-through, you would need to connect 1 HDMI out from the Samsung HTS to the HDMI input to you Denon receiver and then from the Samsung HTS to your TV. If your Denon receiver doesn't support HDMI pass-through, it won't work.
I have purchased the 64 plasma with smart hub and the 7.1 Home Theater system with smart hub. I am still trying to connect things and make them work properly. should I be using just one of the Smart Hub's. Would they conflict with each other? Which is the best one to use? Right now when I switch to Smart hub I lose or have no sound and I am still trying to figure out why. Everything is connected by HDMI only.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
We would recommend you opt to use one of the Smart Hub interfaces over another. If you would like to view a list of what apps are available for your TV or home theater, open the link below and if you are not immediately prompted to choose your Samsung model from the tiered drop-down menu, click "Show Apps for a Specific Device", select your model and a list of the apps currently available for your device will be shown.
I have the HT -E6730W connected to a PN64E550 via HDMI and when using the HT remote to turn off the home theater and TV, the vacuum tubes will come back on shortly after the HT turns off and audio begins to play if it was left on a source that has audio present, ie HDMI 1 where the cable box is hooked up to. This does not happen all the time but when it does, it takes a good amount of time to get the HT to completely turn off. Any help in what can be done to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

We recommend you disable Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC). This would prevent you from turning both devices on together with one remote, but disabling it would resolve this issue.
