Question

Source keep changing

Hi,

I have/had problem with my HT E5400 Unit (ticket # 4119798964) for the source keep switching automatically. They sent me the unit back saying issue was resolved. Now within next 3 months I am having same problem again. I demand to send my money back or new unit without any problem. I cannot send my unit (packing and sending costs money) each month to your service center for same problem.

Mine is still under warranty and I demand a problem free unit for the money I paid.

P.S: This is third time I am having problem with this unit. Second time I sent this unit with door open/close automatically problem.(4120536131).

DVD Flicker Problem?

Hello two whom it may concern at Samsung, I have an HTS5400_ZA series Home Theater System 3D Blu Ray Player, dvd's seem to flicker once in awhile with rectangular squares they pop up every now and then any way to fix that? Blu Ray and 3D blu Ray play fine. Ive tried everything i could think of to fix that. Hope to hear from ya soon.

Hey thanks for the tip but i saw one of your video tutorials for the samsung player i dont know the exact name of it. but the lady in the video said to Turn on The Blu Ray player first, then the TV after the blu ray player loads in that order. So i tried that. and ive been watching dvd's this past week and hadnt had a problem sence ive been doing that. I never thought about doing that like the lady said. But thanks for the info been really helpfull. Been enjoying my blu ray player its awsome. If it dies before the warrenty wich i hope it doesnt, ill be sure to fill out a service repair request form. :) Take Care.

Thank you for contacting Samsung! There are separate reader heads for the DVD and Blu-ray discs. This suggests a possible problem with the DVD head reader. We recommend using a cleaning disc.

What can you use the ipod/iphone connection for besides streaming music? Can you get a replacement if you lost your dock?

I'm just trying to figure out if there are any video streaming capabilities by connecting my iphone to the dock in the back (why not the front designers?)

When watching TV my sound will some times stop for like a second and then return?

Is this a defect or can this be fixed? When I am watching TV my sound will sometimes skip or stop for a second and return and it will continue to do this in intervals of 30 seconds?

Question

Sound issue

I recently began having problems with the foreground sound on certain channels. The background music will play and I will barely be able to hear the people talking. The verizon tecnician had me run the sound directly from my DVR to the TV and it works fine so he said the problem was with my samsung unit. The problem doesn't happen on all the channels only about 15 or so premium channels. I updated my firmware hoping that would solve the problem but it didn't fix the issue.

Question

Intermittent shut off

We're having a handful of issues with equipment shutting off ...

When we turn off the satellite box to begin resetting the unit to play our iPod, the blue ray unit turns off about half the time.

Also, when it hasn't turned itself off, when we go to SmartHub, and select AllShare Play, we sometimes will just get a blank TV screen and will be unable to access the My List menu.

We are not always getting sound from DVD's to play through the system sound (it will go to the TV sound instead).

And our Ipod often shuts off when we are trying to reset the unit from watching TV or a video (we mentioned this in another note ... we're checking to see if the Ipod has a "time-out" function when not in use as suggested.)

The only way we've been able to resolve any of these issues is to turn the whole system off and then start all over again.

Question

iPod goes off intermittently

Our iPod goes off, or doesn't turn back on, after we've watched tv through our Directtv box. We'll put the Smart Hub page on and go to the All Play setting, choose music, choose Ipod, choose our playlist, and ... nothing. The only thing that works is to turn everything off and then back on again and go through the settings again. We sometimes have to do that twice for the music to finally come on. iPod is on the IPod dock that came with the unit

Question

We want to hook up an Apple TV 2 to this unit

How do we go about hooking up an Apple TV2 to this system? We have a 55" Samsung TV and a cable box. We tried plugging in the Apple TV to the back of the Blu-Ray player into the HDMI 1 spot but that didn't work. What are we doing wrong? Thanks!

Most devices are meant to be hooked up directly to your tv. If the bluray player allows for line in then you need to change the input just like you do when you use the bluray player on your tv

We recommend you run an optical cable from the optical output on the Apple TV to the optical input of the rear of the home theater system. Then, run a HDMI cable from the Apple TV to one of the HDMI inputs on your home theater or directly to an HDMI port on your TV.

Question

Video quality suffers when run through HTS

I finally got everything connected and working. I updated the firmware and was able to get my cable box to "pass-thru" the HTS (and see it this time yay). My problem seems to be the HD picture quality is lessened. If I hook the cable box straight to the TV, the picture is more clear. Have I missed something? Any help is appreciated.

No surround sound from ROKU box via hdmi

Amazon Instant Video app

I recently purchased the HT-E5400 along with a new Samsung 51 inch Plasma TV. Both products are nice, but I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the available apps from Samsung. For example, there seems to be no way for me to link with my Amazon Instant Video account to stream videos. I had no problem with my other (lower-priced) blue-ray system, so I do not understand why Samsung does not have this app available yet! The amazon site lists so many Samsung products that are supposed to be compatible, so I don't understand why this app is not available on the SmartHub.

Question

I turn on my system through my Uverse remote, but it always goes to the Blu-Ray

I use my AT&T uverse remote to turn on the tv and home theater system. When I turn the power on, the home theater system initially indicates HDMI IN and then it moves to looking for a DVD and takes me to the Smart Hub. Then, I have to rotate it through the source back to HDMI. Why does it not hold my setting from when I turned it off?

Amazon Cloud App For My Smart Hub

I have just read in online news today that Amazon has announced a new Cloud Player App for Samsung Smart TVs. According to the article, the new app, via Samsung's Smart Hub utility, allows Cloud Player customers access to their entire music library as well as access to Amazon’s rental movie library. This is a very attractive feature and I have just now checked my Samsung App download list on my HT-E5400 Blu-Ray Smart Hub and the App is not yet available. When will it be available for my system's Blu-Ray player?
