Question

I own a HT-BD2T. I am attempting to upgrade firmware from Ver. 1.8 to 1.9.

I followed instructions as supplied "System Upgrade by CD method for HT-BD2". I tried burning several CD's with Nero as per instructions and then another program and all copies failed to load on player. it keeps coming up with an error when attempting to read the CD. What could be the issue?

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

You mentioned having burned several copies, but have you tried using a different type of CD? If you're using CD-RW, try using CD-R or vice versa. If the issue persists, you will need to contact Samsung Australia and perhaps they can dispatch a copy of the firmware to you in the postal mail.

One last thing. Make sure you're downloading the firmware from the Australian Samsung support site.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a problem powering your Blu-ray home theater system.

When you receive the PROTECTION message on the front panel, it means one of two things:

1. The speaker wires are crossed either at the point of connection in the back of the home theater system, or there are two wires touching on the back of the speaker's connection. This is usually the case, and the recommendation I can offer would be to unplug and re-plug the speakers to make sure that the positive and negative terminals are not touching, both behind home theater system and at the rear of each speaker.

2. The other option would be that there something internally that has malfunctioned, and this message appears warning that the unit may require service. If you checked the connections and no other troubleshooting seems to help, you may need to contact Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG for further troubleshooting and assistance.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products.

Question

How to turn off display when watching a movie?

My blu ray player keeps having a display of scenes at bottom of screen. It did not do this before the flimware upgrade. And only does it on the new blu rays we bought. I've tried the blu ray disc menu and the blu ray system menu I still can't get it off.
