It should automatically recognize the update located on the USB. If you "dragged the folder to your USB file" it will not recognize it. make sure you copy and paste or cut and paste the update to the USB. If it still doesn't recognize it contact samsung and ask for a firmware update CD.

System will not play Blu Ray movies all of a sudden

Was there another bad firmware upgrade that has corrupted this system again? My system was working perfectly and now stops loading the Blu Ray movies during the loading sequence. The screen displays the loading icon only but I can hear the movie playing without seeing anything.

Question

How do I set my samsung tv to run adio through my samsung blu-ray player?

I have a Samsung "series 6, 6000" LED TV that is currently connected to my Samsung blu-ray home theater system (ht-bd1250) via an HDMI cable and I am trying to run the audio through the surround sound from the blue ray player, however when I go to auxiliary on the blu-ray player, there is no sound coming through the players speakers (there is still sound coming through the tv). Do I need to do something special (ie. Also use audio cable to run to the "audio in" in the blu-ray, if so from where)? If you could help me out with this, I would really appreciate it

Make sure your Anynet device option on your player is on and it must be an optical sound chord. It can not be anything less than an optical chord b/c it will not work.

The amplifier inside of the Home Theater system is designed to work with the speakers that were included with the Home Theater system.

"Doubling up" or adding more speakers is not recommended.

No, cable boxes are not controlled with the Home Theater remote control.

Usually the cable or satellite boxes have remote controls that can control other devices.

You need to go to samsung.com and get a firmware update. use a USB and download the update to it. (DO NOT drag download to your USB file. If you do it will not recognize it and will not work properly). Cut and paste the download to your USB. Plug it into your USB port in the back of the player not the front. Hope this helps.

I'd recommend contacting 800-SAMSUNG and having your unit set up for service.

Unfortunately, there's not a setting or troubleshooting tip I can offer to stop this symptom. It will likely need to be serviced.

Question

Why won't Blurays play half the time on my Home Theatre?

It seems like every other Blu-ray that I try to watch on my machine won't work. Scenes freeze, skip entirely or just mess up and have to eject. I have the latest firmware update but can't figure out why this thing is such a piece of junk. I thought I was getting a good piece of equipment and trying to stay on the edge of technology but it seems that I need to downgrade back to a DVD player instead. Is there a reason why things are not working? I have had problems with Eclipse, New Moon, Super 8 and others. Thankfully Captain America was fixed with last firmware update. I can't think of the others that I have had problems with but it is very upsetting to have a Blu-ray player that only consistently plays DVDs. I love my Samsung TV but this seriously makes me rethink ever buying anything else from Samsung.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a problem with your home theater system.

In many cases, the studios release a new anti-piracy technology and embed that in the Blu-ray discs. Samsung keeps up with the technology as quickly as possible, although sometimes there can be brief delays between the time a new movie is released with the new technology and the subsequent update from Samsung.

If you have any questions regarding specific titles or concerns with any outstanding titles, please contact the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG.

Yes, it is possible.

Run a cable from the audio output of the cable/satellite/or other source, directly to the input on the home theather. Turn down/off the tv speakers. Turn on the HT, select the audio input that you plugged the cable/satellite/or other device into.

If you want to hear 5.1 sound, make sure that your cable/satellite/or other source is capable of, and set to 5.1 output, and use an optical audio cable from that device to the back of the HT.

Are there any known sound issues?

When watching cable television on my unit through this system the sound sometimes cuts out for 2-3 seconds. When I watch a DVD or Blu-Ray this does not happen. Is there a reason the sound stops? This has occured since I bought the unit.

I have had my unit repaired 4 times now for the same problem. It will play fine for a while, then one, two, three, four, or all five channels will drop out. The last two times they replaced the amp and the pc motherboard. I just picked it up yesterday, turned in on this morning, and after about 10 mintues of working correctly, it lost all but the left front channel. Then the volume froze, I couldn't turn it up or down with the manual control, and the unit did not respond to the remote at all. Even after four reboots it still did not work. This whole design is a nightmare that has not worked properly for more than a couple of months at the time. This occurs whether I'm watching TV, DVD or Blu-Ray. This is more than a lemon, it's a lemon orchard.
