I had the same problem. I found out the lamp blew up and it was time to replace it. I ordered the lamp from Samsung Parts (little bit expensive but I did not have time to compare prices online), replaced using the instructions on this website. Now the picture is bright again.

Question
my pic is curved at the bottom of my dlp how do i fix it?
This is probably due to the one of mirrors on the chip starting to peel away. Other issues can be that it is is on a uneven surface, or you somehow managed to tweak frame of the screen. My number one bet though is that one of the mirrors is peeling off your chip causing this issue. If you do a internet search about it you will find a lot of information on how to address it. Sorry I can not be more help but I have not had the unfortunate opportunity to actually run into this problem.

Question
Popping Noise in HLT5676SX
I get a singular popping noise after a short time of viewing. Only one, sometimes another after another short period. There is no change in the picture, just this pop or crack noise. Sounds as if the plastic case has heated up ?? What is this noise attributed to and should I be concerned.
I'm fairly sure that it's just the TV heating up the plastic. The housing is the only thing large enough to make that noise. As it's a loud pop probably means that the front frame is rubbing against the back frame as they expand/contract.

Question
White dots on the T.V. screen
The t.v. has recently started putting white dots all over the screen. It doesn't matter what you are doing (watching t.v., playing a dvd, playing video games, using the menu through the t.v.) the dots are there. We have had the t.v. looked at and have been told that it needs to have the chipped replaced. The t.v. is only 4 years old and we think that it should be taken care of by Samsung since that product isn't that old and the t.v. repair person said that it was very common with this particular model of t.v. (HL-T5676S)
I just answered someone with this problem as it's happening to me too. Get on the phone with Samsung or chat with their live support on this site. A chip needs to be replaced and Samsung will cover the chip but NOT the cost of the repairman to do it. The problem won't go away on it's own so you might as well get it fixed. I consented to it because I know nothing about this sort of thing. It's not a simple thing like replacing the lamp!

Question
HL-T5676S help...please
I have recently had a growing number of white and black dots on the screen. Is this a known problem with this tv? Is it covered under warranty? I had heard something of a recall, is this heresay?
The issue is not covered under warranty. There were other recalls but not about this. There's a chip that needs to be replaced and Samsung is covering the chip but not the costs for the serviceman to come here to do it. Unless you know something about replacing chips, I recommend you get on the phone with Samsung or talk to them via live chat which I just did.

Question
What action is required to fix all of the white spots that is appearing on the TV screen?
The TV is completelynot visible since there are white dots appearing all over the screen.
You can control the action of the blue light by your remote control. Under 'Setup' scroll down until you come to 'light effect' and then select whatever one of the presented options you wish to use. The menu will tell you what each choice does and you can choose the best option that causes the blue light to act the way you want it to do.
For example, I have selected 'in standby' which means that whenever the TV is off the blue light is on. When the TV is on, the blue light is off.

Question
tv is dimmer than before why?
my dlp 56" is dark and cannot see from an angle. what is wrong and how can i fix it?
Likely your bulb is getting old and needs to be replaced. On average a bulb will last for 3000 to 5000 hours before they need to be replaced. If your TV is not as bright as before, its a good bet you need a new bulb.

Question
White Dots
My DLP has recently developed about a dozen white dots on the screen. When I look up the problem it appears that it is very common on this model due to a faulty DLP chip.
Thank you for contacting Samsung. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this may have given you. It seems that your device may need servicing. You have the option of either contacting us at contact us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com or completing a service request here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request
Increasing white dots appearing on screen (from a few to hundreds in a few months). Have read this may be covered as a factory defect. How should I proceed to have this repaired?
picture issue, try doing a picture test by pressing Menu then choose Support then choose Picture Test try to hit on NO. Then TV will provide you minor troubleshooting steps / instruction that you can follow but after that if issue persist, try a different cable connection if not call Samsung.
We'd like to assist you, but we're going to need additional information so that we can better address your product concerns. We recommend you email us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com. Please provide a brief description of your product issue, as well as the full product model code, serial number and your contact info.
I believe I saw the 3D option in the menu system when I was setting it up for my kids Xbox. I cant remember exactly where though since its been a couple years.
