I need to remove the base pedestal from the screen to put the TV in the basement
I need to remove the base pedestal from the screen to put the TV in the basement. It is almost 59" tall and the basement staircase is only about 48". Is it possible to remove the base pedestal from the screen. Should a professional do this? Or should I just buy a newer Samsung TV?
We have consulted with our resident television expert and he recommends that you should definitely consider contacting a TV professional to help you if you feel this is something you don't feel comfortable doing. You are welcome to check with a local TV repair shop or contact one of our authorized service centers. He says, depending on the cost, this work could be much less expensive compared to that of a new TV.
Why does the picture freeze and then the tv shuts itself down?
The tv will play for 2 or 3 hours then the picture will freeze while the sound continues. The tv then shuts itself off. For the next day or so the tv will show no picture or have any sound and will shut itself off after a few minutes. After a day or so the tv can be turned back on and will appear normal for a couple of hours before starting the whole thing over again.
it powered off during an electrical storm.. now it turns off as soon as i turn it on. i dont even get the chirping noise anymore but the lamp still lights up. any suggestions?

I have also replaced the HDMI cable and still no video. I have tried plugging the DVD directly to TV and still no responds. But Direct TV works fine on the same port.
I have tested VIA Component cable and getting to see the settings page until I start playing DVD and still responds. Any help I can take.
