There is no slot in the device, but there is an adapter to use SD cards with it. Look at the accessories page on the Samsung website.

No, but there is an SD adaptor available, as well as a USB adaptor. Both plug into the 30-pin connector. In addition to USB devices such as thumb drives, you could use a USB-to-SD adaptor with the USB-to-30-pin adaptor. There are aftermarket adaptors available; I have used one USB version that works well.

Samsung: please take a feature request to add an SDHC/XC slot to future devices. It's important to be able to leave the card in the device without having a dongle sticking out.

Not built into the Galaxy Tab. Samsung does however have an adapter available on their website, called the "Galaxy Tab™ USB & SD Connection Kit". It includes a SD Adapter which allows you to transfer multimedia files from an SD or micro SD card to your tablet's internal storage in a matter of seconds.

I understand that the tablet may not provide enough power to run a hard drive. If this is the case, you MAY be able to use a powered hub to provide the power. Plug the hub into the USB adaptor for the tablet, plug the hub into power, and plug the hard drive into the hub. I have not tried this, and it's possible that it will not work at all or not be reliable (many hard drive manufacturers tell you not to use a hub).

The USB adapter will allow you to read and write to a USB 'memory stick' but cannot power an HDD type device.

Samsung does offer a Samsung Connector to USB adapter that I believe offers USB On-The-Go (OTG) support which allows the tablet to be a USB Host. USB Host support (and Honeycomb 3.1) is required to connect USB accessories such as a hard drive, thumb drive, or even a keyboard.

yep it does have gps, the thing is that you need to be connected to the internet to use the gps. it won't load that maps. i was told that copilot is and app that allow you to use the gps with map offline give it a try

I have the WiFI version of the tablet, and it does indeed have GPS. My feeling is that GPS is pretty much a mandatory feature for Android tablets and smartphones these days.

From personal Experience it uses the built in GPS. If you are lost and have no access to Wifi but need directions my tablet has came in handy numerous of times by the built in GPS. I love that i dont need wifi for the tablet to help me find my way out of lost turns while i am driving. Hope this helps!

It uses the built in GPS. Only a very rough approximation of your location can be determined using WiFi, and depending on your WiFi connection, it might be wildly inaccurate.

I am fairly certain that it uses the in-built GPS. Some apps (like Google Maps) can use the WiFi for positioning also.

Not in any economical fashion. The flash memory is soldered to the motherboard. Your best bet is the USB or SD adaptor.

just purchased GT-P7510UWYXAB the battery doesn't seem to be charging. It's been plugged in for 2 hours

I have the brand new Galaxy Tab GT-P7510UWYXAB I'm trying to charge the battery. It's not charging. I just bought the device yesterday. The charger appears to be correctly put together.

It works perfectly with Gtalk video chat, Tango, Fring, and Skype. I haven't used Live Messenger in a while but Logic tells me that it should work just fine, however there is not a Live Messenger app for the Android platform. Windows Messenger is obsolete has not been supported in years, Microsoft stopped providing support when they came out with the Windows Live platform. There are apps in the market that say they will connect you to the Live network, but the few I found do not work correctly (or at all) according to the developers and the user community. Sorry, but it doesn't look like you will be able to use Live Messenger on the Tab just yet.

Question

Using the USB adapter, what memory card reader(s)/writer(s) will work with tab 10.1?

I want to be able to transfer files (music and photos) from SD, microSD, SDHC, microSDHC, and possibly others. Are there any multiple card readers that will work with the tab 10.1? Would I need to download drivers? If a reader/writer says it will work with PC & iOS, will it work with Android Honeycomb?

I tried this a little: here's what I found. YMMV.

Card readers which appear as one removable mass storage device seem to work fine.

Card readers which appear as more than one seem to confuse the OS--it won't allow you to disconnect from all of the drives.

Please try doing a soft reset by turning off the phone, then remove the battery and put it back in after a couple of minutes and power on the phone again.

If i take the tablet with me to the United Kingdom, will local 3G carriers be able to work on it or will it be locked?

If it is using GSM, then a SIM card is involved and it's a simple matter of buying and installing the UK sim card.

Galaxy Tab released for the U.S. market can only be used inside the country exclusive for it's service provider.

It will only work for WiFi function abroad.

Unfortunately, Media Hub is not yet available on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. It will be available for movie download use in future OS updates. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Check the original file type...is it the flash format or .bin? If the original format is in Flash, then something happened during conversion when copying from your computer to the device. I cannot find anything on that yet on an Internet search because the device is too new...I suggest you call Samsung Tech Support and ask them.

My Samsung Galaxy 10.1 wifi edition with Android 3.1 came with a task manager that lets you kill selected or all tasks. Touch the house icon for several seconds to call it.
