If you purchased a regular Wi-Fi model, you will not be able to connect to a 3G data network. You have to purchase a model from your preferred provider that includes the ability to connect to both Wi-Fi and 3G networks. Currently, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon all offer Samsung tablets that allow this.

Question

When will the online product registration site be repaired?

I am trying to complete the online registration of my Galaxy Tab2. I have now had the product for 12 days and have not been able to complete registering it. Each time I sign into my account and click the link to complete the registration of the product, I get the message that the link is either missing or broken and to try back later. Each time I have tried back, I still ge the same message. Can you help me with this situation? Thank you.

Question

Connect to public WiFI

Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 one month old. Couple weeks ago it connected to a public WiFi that had two signals at a restaurant. Last week I could not connect even though one signal was strong Thought maybe their WiFi wasn't working. And gave up. Today someone was checking their email on their phone and got on but I couldn't get on. Tablet searched and came back saying signal was too week. I was 10 feet from their signal. How to fix it? no trouble at library and a couple other public places.

If you were ever able to successfully connect to the wireless network in question, we recommend you go into your tablet settings, select Wi-Fi, select the problem network, click Forget to remove that saved hotspot from the list of connections and the next time you are in the range of this network, try connecting again to re-authenticate . If you are able to connect to wireless networks in other locations without issue, the issue is most likely their wireless network, not an issue with your tablet. Wireless networks can be finicky, especially when they are unsecure.

MEDIA HUB

This is the second time I have had problem with this APP. Now none of the movies that I have DL are working. I open the app and it showed that I had to DL all my movies. I DL one and it will give me a message "cannot play video, sorry, this video cannot be played. There is a picture of a lock on the play button.

usb charging off of laptop

why will my tablet not charge when its connected to my laptop...this is incredibly inconvenient. is there some sort of solution or setting i can use ? the charging cable is incredibly short and cannot use the tablet at the same time as charging it....will there ever be an adapter for micro usb chargers?

Share TV content to your Tab

On Samsung's website for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (Wi-Fi) 16 GB its says under "Control, Watch and Share Content with your TV" - SmartView streams your favorite shows from your TV to your Tab, so you never miss a second. Where do I get SmartView and how do I install? I've already got the universal remote working on my Tab.

The tablet does not have a built-in tuner, so there's no way to receive broadcasts of live TV. That being said, there are apps from several third-party providers that provide access to TV & movies, such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, Crackle, Vudu. We recommend you pull up the Google Play store to see what can be installed.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. The 16 GB is an internal storage memory card that isn't user accessible. There is an expansion slot for up to 32 GB, upgrading the total usable space to 48 GB. Please note that only the internal storage may be used for storing app, whereas the external storage can be used to support videos, pictures, music, and other files. What is with all the permissions after downloading an app?

I'm new to tabs and Samsung. I'm also new to apps. Here's what happened: I went to the app store on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and searched for Angry Birds. I found it, it was free, so I downloaded it. It then said it needed permission for stuff like viewing my phone calls, storage, my location etc. Firstly, when I seen apps and stuff like that on Facebook, they're usually bad news and can harm your system. Secondly, why would a gaming app need all these permissions? And lastly, is this okay or should I be worried? I mean the phone call permission said it could make calls and tell if I'm talking! I just want to know if it's okay to download apps such as this and what happens with these permissions.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. I looked on the information for this app, as I have it myself for Android. Apps generally only request the information they need to have. The permissions it requested seem within the norm, as the specific items it needed for Phone Calls was to "read phone state and identity" and further the storage is to "modify/delete SD card contents". If you're uncomfortable with these permission levels, simply don't install the app, but recognize that most applications will request many of these permissions. This permissions dialog is simply the Android OS being transparent with what it's giving to the app. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!
