Question

getting a video onto the galaxy that will work

First attempted to simply copy the video file in an .mkv format from pc to tab. Failed multiple attempts stating the unit was disconnected (it was connected to the pc via usb and was never disconnected).

Next attempted to use Kies to help. First step was to put the video onto kies as stated on the kies video screen. next kies needed to convert the video. Took kies about 2 hours to convert at 5GB file. Then synced to tab another hour to load onto tab. Launch via the included video player app. The video had some weird voiceover explained the movie, like subtitles but in voice. Assumed I had made some mistake in converting, so I attempted the same video again. First played the video on computer, worked fine no issues. deleted from Kies, reloaded again. Then played from kies directly in the video section of kies. Same problem. Searched for a settings window, none found. Did find a properties window via right click on video but it offers no selections for any audio. Thought the issue may be with the video, attempted second video, same problem. There is a voiceover, like an announcer doing subtitles for sight impaired people Never had this issue and can't find any solution via web. It only occurs in kies, no other software has the problem running the videos. Advice welcome, suggestions welecome as I have found little in the way of guides on the samsung site.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. The audio that you are hearing with them movie is contained in the original file. When the video is being converted in Kies the audio is being merged with the movie file. You may want to take a look at a program that can strip that audio file from the original file before converting the video

Which Serial Number to Use?

I bought this item refurbished. It has a Serial Number printed on the back and a sticker over it with a different number (3 letters& 4 numbers) and says "Refurb". I registered my unit using the printed SN (not the sticker). Is this the correct number to have used?

How can I change google search to a web site using the Internet app?

At the beginning opening Internet app gave me the ability to type any web site URL
Yesterday the Internet app only connected me to google search. It does not close tabs. There is no space to type in a URL I want to stop google search and use the URL of choice with the ability to close tabs or add new tabs. How can I fix this problem?

Once you exit out, put your finger on the middle right-hand edge of the screen and the quick controls will appear. When the icon appears on the screen (it looks like a semi-circle of buttons), click the bottom-most option. I have Yahoo email loaded on my tablet. How do I log out of my email when finished? It will not let me log out. My email account stays open always. This also goes for my wife's email account on her gmail. No log out function. How do I correct this?

Based on our research, this is no way to log out of the Yahoo! Mail app. The only way would be to remove the account.

As for Gmail, all Android devices are tied to a Google account, so while you cannot log out the account. The only workaround is to go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Gmail > Clear Cache. But, the device will stay tied to Google's servers, as that is how it fetches data for the Google Play store, etc.

Samsung apps will not download apps

When I press ' Get' to download the app it says ' service unavailable' #3015#. Also Samsung apps does not want to sync up. In account settings it will not recognise my e-mail address as the correct one.

Why cant I watch videos and camera is not working?

I have the galaxy tab 2 10.1... since day 1 camera has not worked.. it pulls up but the screen is frozen. cant do anything on it.. and a couple weeks ago started it wont let me play videos on it such as youtube or Netflix.. my husband has the galaxy tab 2 7" and has no problem. does anyone know how to fix this? Or do I need to return?

travel adapter is not charging

I recently realized that my charging adapter is not charging my tablet. I think it is defective. The cable looks okay. So right now I am having to charge my tablet by my computer. I am getting ready to leave for a business trip on the 12th of January, I would like to be able to use my adapter for charging tablet.
Also I noticed that the display models of the tablet seem to have a clearer resolution on videos than I do... is there something wrong with the video part of my tablet?
I sell these tablets all day long where I work and love it! However, I do seem a little disappointed with mine.

Repair Request

I have my galaxy tab 2 10.1 registered but I am not able to start a repair request. It keeps telling me I have the wrong serial number in which I verified and I know it is right. Is there another way to get my tab to the company to be replaced or fix? The problem is it goes to sleep and freezes then reboots. I tried the new update and factory reset and still nothing changes. I also sent a question before and my question wasn't answered.
