Setting Clock

I understand how to set the clock, but the time zones are puzzling. If I sent it to Central Time GMT-5:00, the clock widget correctly shows 3:20 pm in the upper left corner, but 5:06 pm in the lower right corner. Why is this?

Question

How do I turn off predictive text??

Fairly simple question, but one I cannot find an answer to. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and quite frankly, the predictive text is driving me bonkers. How do I turn it off?

Also, sometimes I'll press to go into the text I'm writing to fix a mistake, but it won't let me. So I'll have to click right on the end and delete the entire paragraph just to get to a single mistake and then retype it all out again.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. Here's how to turn off predictive text: Settings > Language and Input > Keyboards and inputs methods: Samsung Keyboard; tap the gear > Predictive text

As far as being unable to edit text you're currently typing. I'm not sure that I understand the problem. You should be tap anywhere inside of an editable body of text and place a cursor there. Question

How do I get rid of the blue box around events on the S Planner app?

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The S Planner app was already installed on the device.

I was adding events in the month to the planner. I'd added quite a few and they were all the same: Had a blue upright line like | next to the entry, and then the name of my event. The blue line looked similar to the heading in the S Planner app of "| My Calendar".

Then I added another event. However this time, instead of an upright blue line, it had a blue box around the event's name. I hadn't changed any settings, but suddenly every entry I added had a blue box around it. There was nothing different about the events nor had I changed any settings, so I'm frustrated about why this blue box appeared, what it means and how to get rid of it.

I've included an image I found on the net - one of the entries it shows the blue box around the event like the ones on my app.

Question

E-mail on my Tab doesn't ask for password

I have just got Samsung Galaxy 2 Tab. I synchronized e-mail on the devise with my pitt exchange account. It worked fine, but when I click e-mail the Tab takes me directly to my e-mail, not asking for password. I looked around and was not able to correct the situation. But this is not good. F.e., if the tab is stolen my e-mail compromised! Could I tuned e-mail to ask for the password every time I open this application?

The same about my g-mail account.

Question

WiFi Connection always scans even when connected

I have an annoying issue. My WiFi connects successfully but then every 1-2 minutes scans for connections again and re-connects to the network I already was connected to.

How do I stop this from happening. It interrupts whatever internet based program/app I'm on and the pop up message is just annoying.

We recommend you power cycle your network.

1. Remove the Ethernet Cable from the player (non-wireless users).
2. Disconnect the power from both the router and the modem and let all devices sit unplugged for 2 minutes.
3. Reconnect the power to the modem and turn it on. Allow the modem to boot up completely and wait for all lights to illuminate.
4. Reconnect the power to the router and turn it on. Allow the router to boot up completely and wait for all lights to illuminate.

If the issue persists, we recommend you reset your device.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. Try this: Settings > Device: Application Manager > Amazon Kindle. Then under 'Launch by default' tap 'Clear Defaults'. The next time you open a PDF you'll be able to select the application you can use. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!

Question

Should the SD card be formatted before storing information and photos?

Even though I have selected store photos to SD card in the camera's settings, when I take the pictures, they do not store on the card. They are stored on my tablet. Nothing is stored on the SD card except for the normal stuff that comes with an SD card. Thanks

Is it safe to leave plugged to charger after fully charged message appears?

I typically use my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5113) only once or twice every week or two. The rest of the time I leave it powered on and plugged into the charger so that it is synced and ready to go when I want to use it. The charger is connected to a switch that I turn on when I plug my cell phone in for charging overnight and turn off when I leave for work in the morning. So the tab is effectively connected to a live charger for 10-11 hours each day.

Since the battery is not (officially) user-replaceable, I'm concerned about the possibility of prematurely reducing the battery life. Do I need to be worried? Should I be doing something different (e.g. powering off/unplugging it and only charging it once a week or when using it)?

That being said, if you are not using it but 1-2 times every week or so, there is no need to leave it charging all-day, every day. While we can understand wanting it to be well-charged when you do use, it doesn't need to be plugged in at all times of non-use. You should even consider leaving it powered off if you wish to conserve battery longevity and power it on only when necessary. You can even leave it powered on when not in use and it shouldn't degrade the charge greatly.

camera has stopped working

When i try to take pics on the camera, it tells me "unfortunately, camera has stopped working". So I can't take any pics, but I'm able to take videos. Whats up with that? The camera app, is the one that's is already installed on the tablet.

Wi-Fi direct printing

First of all there is no wi-fi direct option in the menu that the manual shows. The printer shows up as a wi-fi device under the wi-fi menu and I can connect and print but I cannot be connected to the internet at the same time.
