Apps force closing after v4.2.2 update

Every since I updated my software to 4.2.2..I have had a lot of my apps to automatically force close when I try to open them..I have uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled, and they still do the same thing...I checked to see if apps were compatible to 4.2.2, ans supposely they are..Here is a list of a few that doesn't work: Evernote, PowerAMP,GrooveVP, to name a few..pls help...Is there a way to reinstall the update again in case it is corrupted or go back to ver4.2.1? Some of These apps are essential to my business.

Question

Factory Reset does not work!

So trying to deal with a failed Firmware update, Samsung recommended doing a Factory Reset and then trying the Firmware update again. Unfortunately, when I do a Factory Reset, nothing changes. All my downloaded apps are still installed and functioning, all my accounts are still defined, even my email which has previously been downloaded is still there.

Tried a reset - no change.
Tried a reset right after a reboot - no change
Disabled Avast antivirus and tried a reset - no change
Uninstalled Avast antivirus and tried a reset - no change

(side note, since the original issue is the firmware update that won't install, I tried it after reboots at each step above, and still no install of the firmware update).

So, I have a tablet that cannot install the firmware update pushed by Samsung, and I have a tablet which is unable to perform a factory reset.

I have never rooted or installed any alternative ROM on this device, just things from the Play Store and the Amazon Android Store, so this is quite frustrating.

Honestly, my confidence in Samsung devices is taking a negative "hit" over this issue.

Tablet turns itself back on after powering off

Has there been a fix for the problem of Galaxy Tab 2, 10.1 turnig itsef back on, since the upgrade to 4.2.2 OS. A couple of work arounds have been posted on the community q & a but I'm looking for a permanent solution.

Question

Firmware will not upgrade on GT-P5113 Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

I cannot upgrade the firmware through any method. I was prompted via a screen message on the tab 2 to upgrade it. Upon trying to do it directly from the tab it tells me that it failed and to try Kies. I've attempted to upgrade through Kies several times.

With Kies, it gets to the point where it restarts the tablet and then it just hangs there at 0%. Initially I thought it just may take a little but, but over three hours later it was still at 0% and nothing was happening.

I've uninstalled and re installed Kies rebooting my PC after every step.

What I did notice was this little message that popped up above my clock on my desktop. It read, "Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware." However when I start up Kies and plug my tab2 in it finds the firmware update.

I'm at my wit's end here. I usually have zero issues doing software/firmware updates.

Question

How to get out of firmware update loop?

The GT-P5113 tells me I have a firmware update to load. Of course, it fails and suggests loading via KIES, which I did, and to all appearances, that update was successful, except KIES never ended. After reporting the upgrade was successful, KIES just started using 100% of the CPU and sat there for over 45 minutes before I killed it. This was on an initial install of KIES.

However, the tablet continues to tell me there is a firmware update to be loaded and fails to load it. Is there any point in trying KIES again?

Running Android 4.2.2, kernel 3.0.31-1261897

FYI, the update package it keeps wanting to download is 64.61 MB.

Email instructions to do a Factory Reset and try the firmware update again did not work. I still cannot load the firmware update. Interestingly, the Factory Reset does not appear to have worked either. All my apps and data are still there when the reboot completes (will open a new thread on that).

Assuming that my Antivirus / Antitheft product (Avast!) might be hindering, I tried with it disabled, same result - no install of firmware, no success in Factory Reset. So I completely uninstalled it, rebooted, and tried again - all with the same results. No factory reset, no firmware installed.

This is getting to be a bit "nuts".

Question

Google Play Newsstand and Search are not workjng

Ever since Google Play updated 'Magazines' to 'Newsstand' neither Newsstand nor the Search app have worked - both issue an immediate 'has stopped' message. Judging by chatter in Android forums and other places on the web this failure seems to have primarily affected Samsung products, especially the Tab 2. No amount of cache-clearing, installing, uninstalling seems to help. This has been going on for two weeks and people are unable to access content they have paid for. What is the fix?

camera has stopped working

When i try to take pics on the camera, it tells me "unfortunately, camera has stopped working". So I can't take any pics, but I'm able to take videos. Whats up with that? The camera app, is the one that's is already installed on the tablet.

Why does my Galaxy Tab 2, 10.1 SE keep disconnecting from the internet?

I have a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Student Edition and am experiencing major problems with my internet connection. I have Verizon Fios wireless and the tablet will make an initial connection, then the screen will go black and take me back to the home screen.
I also have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 that is not experiencing any problems with the internet, so it is not my connection.

Question

will not power off after 4.2.2 update.

The android update to 4.2.2 will not allow my tablet to power off.
I have three email tickets in already.
Been reset, restored three times.
Still will not power off.
My tab 2 is the p5113 model.
When will a patch be released to address this issue.
I really would like to use 4.2.2 or higher but powering off is an essential function that is required.

I'm also having this problem. The tech I talked to informed me to,
plug it to charger when you see the battery logo it will turn off.

However that sometimes fails and you have to repeat the procedure.
Good luck.

Anyone knows when it will be fixed? ?

For those having the issue of your tablet not powering-off after upgrading to Android 4.2.2, the best work-around is as follows: Hold the power button down until you see the shut-down menu, and tap "RESTART." The tablet will re-boot. When the tablet boots up and displays the Lock Screen, hold down the power button and when the shut-down menu displays, tap "POWER OFF." The tablet should shut down normally - this works for most people who are having this issue. NOTE: When the tablet re-boots to the lock screen, Do Not swipe the screen and unlock it before attempting to power down! Apparently support is aware of the issue and a fix will be coming at some point...

Tech support acknowledged the power off issue.
I think the update should be suspended until it is fixed.
Also samsung should email all registerd users with the problems acknowledged and that it is being addressed.
This is affecting many users and we deserve to be communicated with.
