Still some 6 weeks after Germany gets the update, I don't know if any other country has been updated with Jelly Bean. I would understand if my tablet had AT&T or Verizon Bloatware, but this is a stock device. Samsung, we really expect to see the JB update in the US now. I didn't think that I would start 2013 using ICS but now we are two weeks into 2013.

since writing above comment I have stumbled on these. http://www.samsung.com/us/article/all-about-android-4-1-jelly-bean and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJhKAC2PJEE for info on what the update does it is from germany but seems to work for USA. I was wrong, popup note is not gone. Just need to get to it by Spen. Lock screen apps are there somewhere seems like if you lock it the option is in a different place than when not locked.

It's written on the back of the device at the bottom (it's the only set of writing there). It's really teeny tiny and you may want a magnifying glass (as I did) to see it.

Yesterday, 11/09/12, there was some news out of Germany showing that the Jelly Bean version of the firmware was being rolled out there. Still no speculation on when it will make it here. However, seeing as the official version is rolling out in Europe, it should not be long.

Looks like the US is starting to roll out 15-Jan-2013. This morning when I woke up, there was a notification that I have a firmware update available. It went through a long boot cycle and when I checked I was now sitting on Version 4.1.2 . Google Now is supported, I can open multiple windows, I can resize split screen applications. This is cool.

connect the samsung galaxy note 10.1 to a vga projector which does not have hdmi connection

I am trying to use this item to do a presentation. I tried to connect it to a vga projector using a hdmi to vga converter that I bought from amazon. It seems it does not work. I already have your HDMI-TV adaptor.

Do you know how can I connect my galaxy note 10.1 to a vga projector to use for presentation?

I was successful to hook up the Samsung Note 10.1 to a projector system at the university that had a VGA cable for Laptops. I used first a VGA (F) to HDMI (M) adapter and then the SAMSUNG HDMI (F) adapter. Important is the you plug the SAMSUNG charger cable at the HDMI (F) adapter. It will not work without extra power. So far it worked great I can do essentially everything ....

Android Apps are not all designed to be closed when you are done using them. You can move on to another app by pressing the home key and then selecting another application to launch. Android will automatically close apps in the background if they go unused for a while or if the resources are needed by other apps.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. As this is a Wi-Fi tablet, it cannot receive text messages as it doesn't have the capability of sending texts out across a cellular network. However, there are third-party solutions to allow you to still send and receive text messages, and these can be found on the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps

Are you asking about SMS messages or IM type messages? SMS is only directly available on phones because it is a phone service and this is a tablet. If you are asking about IM, it depends on what service you use and whether or not you have downloaded the app.

There are some Text (SMS) options you might be able to use. I'm an AT&T customer so I can install AT&T Messages service onto my tablet and that allows me to text using my mobile phone number. I have also used Google Voice to send text messages but that assigns a different number than either my Google voice number or my regular mobile phone number. An application like Text Plus can be used to send text messages also.
Good Luck.

The charging cable will charge the device, but we recommend you use Kies to transfer any media.

I have a 64MB card in it now. I also carry 2 others with movies on them and swap them out once in a while during trips. All 3 are 64MB and work fine with no problems.

Sorry, that was a typo on my part. I meant to write 64GB cards, not 64MB. I blame the dog trying to eat my tablet at the time I was writing that. Contrary to what you see on the boards, your Note 10.1 will indeed hold a 64GB card in the slot. :)

Thank you for contacting Samsung. This depends not on the particular tablet but on the printer manufacturer, as it must create an app to interface with the printer on your local network. Go to https://play.google.com/store/apps/ and search for your printer's brand to determine if it's supported. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!

Go to the Google play store, search for printer app. Took me about 3mins to find, install, enter my code( which is emailed to you) & I was ready to start sending & printing. I was pretty amazed at how easy & fast this was.

Question

S Note Issues After Upgrade

After the last upgrade, S Note freezes up constantly and restarts itself back to the start screen. This causes all of the content to be lost and you have to start over hoping that it does not occur again. There is no error message, it just restarts. The palm recognition no longer works after the upgrade as well. It zooms in and out while you are writing and is real annoying. The pen icon on the right top side is blue, so palm recognition should be on. It behaves the same way no matter whether it is blue or black. Please fix the S Note application freezing and restarting issue soon, as it is very frustrating. If there is a workaround, please let me know.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. You can try deleting the stored data for the app. You can do this by going to Apps; then tap and hold on S Note, dragging it over to App Info; and finally, tap 'Clear Data'.

If your problem still persists, please contact us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com and provide us with a screenshot of the App Info screen. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!

Could sound cruel but give a Factory reset, Setting> Backup&Reset, Make shure you got your contacts, calendar and any other important data backed up.
This could fix your problem.

I have been looking at galaxy note 10.1 covers and can you tell me if the N8000, N8010 and N8013 will use the same cover? I have a new N8013 and sometimes the specs do not mention N8013 with the other 2 numbers. Let me know. Thanks.

As I know the N8000 is the international version, but should be the same as the 8013(for USA Market, only WiFi). Go ahead I would do the same, just wanted a better cover too.
