You need to use a citrus based cleaner, like EARTH BRITE(sold on h.s.n and amazon.com), it cleans great . You want to rinse with clear water after cleaning, also clean when cook top is cool to touch..

I've been cleaning with a soapy sponge. But then like you say the streaks are there. So I have been able to rid the streaks by using a glass cleaner on a paper towel. Works pretty well.

Question

On the FX710BGS how often should the convection fan run when convection selected?

The fan does not seem to run very often when convection is selected. When the preheat temp is reached the fan comes on for maybe 20 seconds then stops. Other ovens with this feature that I have had .. the convection fan runs almost constantly.

Thanks

It should cycle on and off. I was told this is a design feature and to help keep range operations cost down by not running all the time.

Thank you for the questions. Yes, the FX710BGS will work with either natural gas or liquid propane. It comes ready to connect to natural gas, but the LP conversion kit is included. Samsung recommends having the gas range installed by a qualified technician.

Yes the kit is included. I did not open it but I see that each burner has an orifice to change the unit over. Looks like an instruction sheet is included too.

The actual gas valve is located on the back of the range, on the lower left side (facing the range). It's important to have the range and the lines installed by a qualified gas installer to ensure it is done properly and meets both local and national codes.

The line required is at least 1/2 inch with a shutoff. The flexible connector recommended is 60" long and 5/8 inch OD. The line I installed comes up from the floor about seven inches from the left to clear the left side of the unit. The valve should be no more than 3 1/2 inches from the wall and facing the right works well. I would like to see the spec sheet included with this unit posted on this page or in the specs listed. By the way this unit recommends an outlet 120 volts and a 12 amp max draw.

Question

Should the fan always be running when the oven is set to bake convection or roast convection?

The fan has always been in operation on all the ovens I have previously used when the ovens were set to convection. When my range is set to convection (roast or bake) the fan seldom runs. It will often cycle on for 15-30 seconds and then turn off for several minutes.

This is a true convection oven..The fan cycles off and on during cooking ,because it has its own heater coil within the fan. Forced air convection ovens heat by circulating the heated air from the top and bottom elements (on electric) and heat produced from the bottom burner(gas ovens). The fans run continuously on forced air convection ovens, if they didn't your food would burn on the bottom..

Question

I have registered our new Samsung gas range. Where can I find proof that we have the additional three months on our warranty?

When I registered the range, I saw on the website that we would get an additional three months on the usual twelve-month warranty. Now my husband wants to print out proof of that extended warranty to keep with our paperwork, but I can't find it. I trust Samsung to honor this extra three months, but I would like to have written proof. Just in case.

The Convection Bake feature on the FX710 automatically reduces the set temperature by 25 degrees to help prevent overcooking. If you're pressing the non-convection Bake button and the temperature is being converted, your range may require service. Please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

On page 16, Oven Warnings, why does it say not to use aluminum foil in the oven?

Whenever I made Lasagna, I cover the baking pan with aluminum foil. I also do this when roasting an oven-stuffer chicken roaster. Please advise. Thank you.

Thank you for the question. This warning about using aluminum foil in the range is actually referring to its use as an oven liner which could block the critical air flow in the oven cavity. Not only could it create a hazard, but it could also damage the interior surface of the oven if used to line the bottom since foil could fuse to the surface if it becomes hot enough. It's fine to use aluminum foil as a cover on pans or casserole dishes when roasting or baking.

griddle showing marks and scratches after just one month.

Hello, I love my new range and we use the griddle amost daily with plastic utensils only and after only a month it has a lot of scratches. I have had my cookware for 15 yrs and stonewear for 19 years so I treat my items very well. I am concerned that this griddle is going to be too sratched to use very soon and will never last as long as the grates or range. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.\

I'm sorry to hear your griddle has some scratches. Like other non-stick surfaces, the griddle is susceptible to scratching. To help prevent scratches, it's important to not only use plastic utensils, but also wash and store it carefully.

The convection fan in the FX710 turns on while the oven is preheating and when one of the convection modes is selected. It is not designed to run constantly, but rather intermittently to help maintain the set temperature.

Just purchased the FX710BGS range with the 2.1 cu ft. over the range microwave. How high above the gas range should the microwave be mounted?

Also the vent motor on the microwave is 400cfm. Is that enough for the FX710BGS gas range or what does Samsung say is needed for gas ranges?

Question

Self Cleaning Mode

When in self cleaning mode, the unit seems to go through constant, odd cycle:

1. Burner comes on.
2. After period of time, convection fan comes on.
3. Within 5 seconds of convection fan starting, burner goes out.
4. About 1 second after burner going out there is a popping sound.
5. Convection fan then goes out.
6. Short pause and then cycle repeats.

Is this normal? Seemingly short cycle of convection fan was first concern, but the popping sound makes me nervous.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We have conferred with our resident home appliance specialist and he indicates that this is completely normal for the self-clean cycle. He says the popping is the oven going through a relay in order to maintain a consistent self-cleaning temperature.
