Question

How do I get the Griddle accessory?

How can I get the middle griddle for my gas range? I was told by the salesman that the griddle accessory is free and all we had to do was pay the S&H charges, and we'd really like to get in on that deal.

My range does the same thing and I have read that it is designed that way. The fan cycles to maintain the oven temperature at the set level.

In my opinion the fan should stay on - there's nothing in the manual that states the fan cycles on & off.

Can you share the cycle times - time interval on vs. time off and so on...

If you pull out the bottom drawer, it is on a sticker on the left hand side of the range facing out. Very easy to see/find once you pull the bottom drawer open.

Thanks for the question. The removable burner parts and cooktop can be cleaned in warm, soapy water. Abrasive pads and cleaners should not be used since they may scratch and damage the surface. To keep stains from setting, spills should be wiped up right away, especially when they involve foods high in acid or sugar content, like tomatoes, fruit, vinegar and many sauces, since they could dull the porcelain-enamel surface.

Question

My french fries came out soft.

I just bought the FX510 gas range and followed the instructions to bake at 450 degrees. I even extended the baking time by 5 minutes and my fries still came out soft. Should I place the baking rack high or low? I had it in slot 4 (just above the middle). Should I be using Convection bake?

Thanks for the question. Samsung can't attest to the outcome of a particular food product, but it does seem reasonable to suggest that the french fries might be crispier if cooked differently, such as using a different rack setting, a higher temperature, or the convection mode. If you find that recipes or products like the french fries are cooking either faster or slower in the FX510 than the recipe calls for, you may want to consider adjusting the thermostat as instructed on page 33 of the user manual which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website for easy reference.

When you turn your oven on do you get the red glow in the vents in the oven floor. If you do not the burner ignitor may be faulty. Since you do not have a pilot light this electric part glows red hot to ignite the gas when it comes on. If this part does not glow then it may be defective thus preventing the gas from coming on.

Question

Liquid-type drips developing between glass panels of oven door

Area indicated is not readily accessible for clean-up. How does this happen? Isn't this oven glass window sealed to prevent this type of problem? How do you easily access this area to clean it? What is the long term cure to prevent reoccurrence?

I'm sorry to hear something has dripped between the layers of glass in the oven door. The vents in the door are necessary to enable the outside of the door to stay relatively cool despite the high temperatures in the oven. However, these openings can also allow spills to make their way inside. The door would need to be disassembled to clean between the glass. I would suggest having service such as this performed by a trained professional to avoid damage to your range and injury to yourself. Question

Is the convection fan supposed to go on and off?

Never had gas convection before...Whether I put it on convect bake or convect roast the fan kicks on and off constantly during pre heating and after it reaches the temp. I did internet research and got a mixed bag of answers. Old, new, commercial, residential. More confused. I would assume that the fan should blow constantly to cook the food???

I have the same rSamsung ange and yes the fan comes and goes. By design, it only runs to maintain a constant cooking temperature. My last range had continuous fan and it would over cook foods near the door so Samsung probably has a better design.
