The FTQ387LWGX does not come with a power cord. I would suggest you consult with the appliance associates at your retailer or a licensed electrician regarding local building codes and the use of 3 or 4 prong connections, as well as which cord will fit your connection if you already have one, since there are different prong patters for different plugs.

The FTQ387 is rated for 240V 60Hz and a 40 amp power supply.

There are a number of products on the market specifically intended to clean real stainless steel. Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will not only clean the stainless steel, but will help prevent fingerprints from recurring.

Thanks for choosing the FTQ387!

Question

How come we are getting an error message E-0E with a icon of a padlock flashing on our Samsung FTQ387LWGX ?

This started when I tried to Self Clean the oven with the steam button. The padlock icon would keep flashing and beeps but when you press clear or stop the beeping stops the time would show but then after a minute the beeping would start again and the padlock icon still flashes. Now the oven turns off as soon after a minute come about or when the beeping stars. So now the oven is useless cause we can not get it started long enough to heat it. Just found out our local Samsung repair service don't do your brand anymore. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. According to the User Manual, the code E-0E is a door locking error. To resolve it, press the CLEAR/OFF pad and restart the oven. If the problem persists, disconnect all power to the range for at least 30 seconds and then reconnect the power. If this does not solve the problem, your range will require service.

I'm sorry to hear the foil has damaged your oven. The User Manual cautions against the use of aluminum foil for several reasons, including the possibility that it will damage the oven's interior. Your FTQ387LWGX oven door is an assembly and is not vacuum sealed. The open vents on the door are required for air flow and to allow moisture to evaporate. The door would need to be disassembled in order to clean between the glass. If you wish to have this done, we recommend contacting an authorized service center. Please call 800-SAMSUNG or use the Live Chat button on the product support page for assistance.

The FTQ387 range does not have a glass tray for the oven floor, and I was unable to find reference to a "glass tray" being placed on the oven floor in the FTQ387 User Manual, which is downloadable as a pdf file from this website. Samsung microwaves, on the other hand, do have glass turntables which must be in place when using. Perhaps this is the instruction you are referring to.

Question

Are there extended screw-in feet for this range?

We just put in new quartz countertops. The range is no longer flush with the countertops, sitting approximately 1/2 - 3/4 inclhes below the surface. The adjustable feet are extended all the way out. We have had to set the range on blocks to make it flush.

The adjustable feet are designed to help level the range, which is a standard height, rather than to raise it up significantly. Samsung does not have different height options for the feet either. Raising it with shims or blocks as you've done may be your best bet, though it's very important to make sure the range and its electrical connections are level, stable and secure. Perhaps a kitchen designer could advise you on ways of making this adjustment less visible.

Congratulations on your new countertop!

Question

Can you help with the convection baking?

I was excited to get a convection oven as I had heard it cooked quicker and more evenly. So far I haven't seen either of those things happen. I thought an advantage was being able to cook on two different racks at the same time, but that seems to take longer to bake and it is not even. I don't want to regret spending the extra money for the convection option so if you can help me with this, I would appreciate it.

Thank you for the question. When used properly and with the appropriate cookware, convection cooking should save time and cook more evenly. Samsung's 3-fan convection system effectively spreads the heat thoroughly and evenly throughout the oven cavity. It is important to follow the instructions given in the user manual, however, with regard to cookware and spacing, to enable the heat to distribute evenly. For example, the raised sides on cookie sheets can prevent the heat from reaching all of the cookies evenly, so Samsung recommends using cookie sheets with low or no sides. It is also worth noting that, when baking with convection, the temperature is automatically adjusted down 25-degrees, since the ingredients in baked goods may require a certain length of cooking time to react properly. Roasting with convection, on the other hand, can reduce the time needed significantly. Please refer to convection baking and roasting instructions beginning on page 24 of the user manual for best results.

Question

Removing metal marks on cooktop

Per cooktop instructions, I have used flat bottom alluminum or stainless cookware. We've only had the cooktop a few weeks. After cooking just now I noticed what appear to be scratches on the surface. I may have slid the pot, but not aggressively. The pot is flat on the bottom. I read your instructions for removing metal marks that resemble scratches. After cleaning with the provided cooktop cleaner the marks are still able to be seen. It almost looks as if the marks are below the surface. Given this is a brand new cooktop I'd like to keep it looking new a few years. If I have to be extremely ginger with the cooktop for fear any little movement will scratch it, that's not something I can live with. Please advise what methods can be used to remove these marks or advise how I can have the surface fixed if your methods don't work. Mike

I'm sorry to hear you have marks on the cooktop. If there's a chance the marks are from burned on residue, please refer to page 44-45 of the User Manual for instructions to help remove it. If the marks are from scratches caused by using cookware with a rough bottom, or a metal that can leave marks and scratches as described on page 15 of the Manual, they may not be removeable, though small scratches may become less visible over time.

For information about replacing the cooktop, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. It is not unusual for the oven to cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature, and the temperature within the oven may vary from one location to another. However, if you're detecting such a significant variation, I would suggest you call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your oven racks. It's difficult to determine from your question, without photos, whether your racks are not being inserted properly or if there is an issue with the racks or the FTQ387 oven itself.

First, I would suggest checking to make sure your range is leveled properly. Even if the racks are properly installed, it is normal for them to slope down somewhat when pulled out, since there needs to be a certain range of motion for them to slide in and out without too much resistance. However, if the range is not properly leveled, this could explain why the racks are tilting too much when pulled out. To level your range, please do the following:
- Place the oven rack in the center of the oven.
- Place a level on the oven rack.
- Adjust the leveling legs at the base of the range until the oven rack is level.

If the issue persists after checking the leveling, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether the racks are being inserted correctly, or if something else is at play that may require service to address.

Question

How do I put warming drawer back into the stove?

I've taken the warming drawer out successfully. I can't put it back into the stove. It won't go all the way back into the stove. The manual speaks about replacing the shield on the right glide of the drawer body. What is the shield? I don't see anything. The drawer stops about 2/3rds into the stove.

Thanks for the question. Current FTQ387 models no longer have the "shield" referenced in the User Manual. The key to reinstalling the warming drawer is to have both the right and left rails aligned, and to make sure the bearing glides on the chassis are in the forward position. It's not unusual to feel some resistance when pushing the drawer back into place, but if everything is aligned you should be able to push it back by applying a small amount of pressure. If you haven't already, check the cavity and the rail for items or debris that could be obstructing the path of the drawer.
